It's live on TV , playing in a prestigious tournament we will play the strongest team possible, with 4 missing out, Butland, Shay, Ginkle and Johnson. Other than that I expect a fair side to be put out. It's not certain but this is what the sentinel were reporting at the weekend I know it's a bit ambiguous it just says "new arrivals " it could mean the three new signings or all of the "late " arrivals not sure, time will tell as I am now off to the airport see you guys tomorrow with regular Oatcake updates including pics because we all know No Pics never happened

Obviously I've missed something re Pieters. Why's he not available at the minute? He finished the season fit if I recall rightly.

He stayed back in England to recover from a groin operation he had at the end of the season. Think he might be for in time for Liverpool

Pieters ruled out of Barclays Asia Trophy
Full back staying behind to continue rehabilitation ERIK PIETERS will miss Stoke City's trip to Singapore for the Barclays Asia Trophy.
The left back has revealed he'll instead be staying behind to continue rehabilitation following a groin operation undergone earlier this summer.
Pieters made 32 appearances for the Potters last season but played through the pain barrier towards the back end of the campaign prior to going under the knife.
He now hopes continued work with the Club's medical staff will be the best way for him to make a full recovery.
"I had surgery during the holidays and now I'm building my fitness back up," he told Stoke City Player.
"I spoke with everyone here and we think the best choice is to stay back and let the boys focus on what's happening over there.
"Of course I will miss them but I think the best way is to stay here to try and get fitter with my own work.
"This is now my fourth week and it's around a six week process.
"I'm on schedule and everything feels good, it's now time for me to push on."
The Dutch international is hoping to be back in contention for some minutes on the field when his team-mates return from the Far East in just under two weeks' time, but has already set his sights on the televised Barclays Premier League opener with Liverpool on Sunday 9th August.
Pieters celebrates his 27th birthday two days before the Britannia Stadium clash with a host of friends and family scheduled to make the trip over from the Netherlands.
"I won't miss that game, I'll be ready!" he smiled.
"It's near my birthday and my family are coming over.
"Everybody will be here and I won't miss that game for nothing!
He added, "It's crazy because the first season I played here we played at Liverpool away, last season we finished with them at home and now it's them again first up.
"I don't mind; you have to play everyone over the course of a season so why not?"

If we don't win this trophy, serious questions need to be asked.

I have not read anything that says players will be rested for the first game, is this guessing or have i missed something ? The only player not in Singapore is Butland so all the rest are in the frame. It's been in the Sentinel a few times. The internationals aren't going to be playing either. If it's in the Sentinel it must be true!????

I might be wrong about Moha and the other kids over there, but they don't seem to be on our official squad list. I know it's only a pre-season friendly but with it being administered by the Premier League they might only allow players on the squad list to kick a ball (I'm assuming Given, Van Ginkel and Johnson have been added!!)

Everton v Stoke LIVE FOOTBALL. For those of you who prefer to watch your football on the couch instead of all that heat & flies .... Much cheaper too.... Life without N'Zonzi and Begovic begins . Prediction for the match 2-0 to Stoke .

We've still go Muniesa, Wilson, Tex & Cameron. Wilson played in the internationals so is unlikely to play tomorrow. It'll probably be Geoff Muni Tex Bardsley. I'm actually really scared we're going to get lose badly tomorrow in front of the sky cameras.
