He has 4/5 a season, every season, that's not an excellent 'keeper. Like Begovic? Nope! It's why I put "every season" in there!

Rob Green is a calamity, always has been, always will be. He's had his howlers but he's not a liability. Excellent keeper. I agree as stated in a earlier post. We need experience with not only Bego going but also Sorensen which leaves us with 2 very inexperienced keepers in the premier league! It's going to be interesting to see what the manager does with this one as the way it stands I feel it's far more important than any other position we need to strengthen at this moment in time Here's my question: which experienced keepers are available and would come to stoke and fight for the number 1 jersey? And please don't say anyone who we pay enough.

I think Costel Pantilimon would be a good choice. Not sure he'd leave though unless he was first choice ahead of Butland.

Myhil would be very decent and backed up Foster. Given too at this stage of his career.
Green is a non-starter as Sparky brought him at QPR in then the week after brought in Cesar!

I think we will look for a cheap continental youth or experience PL keeper on the cheap personally. That'd make the most sense... Someone with a few years left in them like a Rob Green or Myhill type.

Rob Green would be an excellent signing on a short contract and i wouldn't be surprised if we signed him.

Was it Hughes' choice though? If it was then you're right. I imagine it was a board decision though, a lot of managers have had their fingers burnt at that club and now they've had to get a nobody in as manager because no sensible manager will take the job on.

Gilks from Burnley, schwartzer, given would be my 3 choices or David Forde from Millwall who we were linked with! The likelihood is they will hardly play so no need to pay big wages!

Myhlll or Green for me, as I keep saying we need that experience. The simple reality of all this is this: Bego goes and the keepers we have left don't have 10 premiere league games between them . Yes Jack is ready in my opinion but what comes after him? At the moment absolutely nothing and that's not being disrespectful to the new keeper we have signed it's a FACT of the position we are currently in but I have faith in Hughsey.

I just can't see a scenario where this guy has left a club as second choice to be third choice here add to that we have to promising up and coming keepers who'd have been hoping to be third choice themselves. Suppose time will tell. But being the sub keeper in the Danish league must be pretty soul-destroying He may have jumped at a whopping wage rise and a long-term contract at a Premier club, even if it meant being No.3. I just can't believe the management would be happy to chuck him in at the deep end. I'm expecting another senior keeper to come in as a back-up - but could be wrong (I normally am!) Being 3rd, 4th or 5th choice at a Premier League club is a massive step-up compared to being 2nd choice at a Danish club. In the interviews Haugaard has given to various Danish newspapers, he does not hide the fact that he is here to develop, not to be a member of the match day squad from the start.
