This is horrible. I think we all knew deep down that there wasn't much chance of seeing him in a Stoke shirt again but when he was out on loan at least he was still technically a one of ours.
Absolutely class bloke, on and off the pitch.

Gutted! Not many players attack a ball like Huthy one of the best defenders I've seen in the red and white, he will get one hell of a reception when he comes back to the Brit I'm sure.

Sad indeed, but we all knew the day would come. There are sadly very few of his type left in the game. He was such a massive part of what our recent success was built on and that partnership with Ryan was magic. Good luck Rob and many thanks for the great memories

Sad day indeed. Top man and excellent servant to the club in a era with Stoke gaining resurgence to the top through toughness and guile. An excellent defender and even better personality and ambassador for us, one of my favourite defenders to grace our backline. He will be missed. Good luck you tough German bastard! The Berlin wall has gone'

All the best Huthy.

Fantastic servant to the club , but he just does not fit in with the way that Hughes, thankfully, wants to play. I also disagree that Wollschied is an inferior replacement , much better footballer than Huth. , really Wolfshit better than Huth

Top player for us, top man, would run through a brick wall for the club, and obviously absolutely loved being a Stokie.
Good luck Robert - there will always be a real warm welcome for you whenever our paths cross again.

Top defender Top bloke And a great sense of humour - especially for a German. I remember when Jon Walters joined twitter and Huth's response was that he didn't know that Jon could read or write. Apologies if someone has already mentioned that one. Loved him to bits and I think they broke the mould after he was born. Bye, Big Man and good luck, except when you play against us of course. You'll always get a cheer (and a Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuth) from all of us when you come back to the Brit. The best thing to come out of East Germany since I don't know when.

What a dumb piece of business this is Huth out and Wolly in! Hughes might know how to pick an attacking player but clearly struggles when it comes to CBs. Huth is one of the genuine recent legends and is up there with Smith and Shawcross as the three best defenders to have pulled on a Stoke shirt in recent times. Its a sad day for Stoke and Leicester have got themselves one hell of a guy This makes no sense Leicester get a solid dependable defender for the same price we get Wolfshit, what the fuck is Hughes thinking.

This is massively overplayed in my view. Why would you ever want to 'move on' from tough as teak, heart on sleeve defending, with a burning desire to win your personal one on one battles and an equal desire to help your mates, if they're not winning there's. Are we really saying that a player schooled at Chelsea and in the German youth set up can't handle a ball from the goalkeeper and pass it to a team mate? 100% agree. Huth has hardly played for Hughes and when he has, he's either been carry an injury or recovering from one. This thing about him not suiting the style is just a load of bollocks. Letting him go is a major mistake. Replacing him with woolsheid is an even bigger one. Bang on all points, baffling decision to let Huth go but to replace him with the milk float for the same fucking money

Utterly appalling decision.
I think LMH is ace, but I really do doubt his judgment of centre backs.

Just like he did against Blackburn when a second string striker from a lower league ripped WOLFSHIT apart, looking forward to seeing how many games this clown gets.

Can't we just celebrate Huth rather than spout nonsensical drivel about the manager and calling OUR players moronic names?

I have never really understood the argument that he doesn't fit with Hughes style of play. Are we saying that Huth is nothing more than a clogger? You don't win a premier league title playing for Chelsea unless you can play a bit of football. Under TP Huth had one job and that was defend at all costs I am sure given a run in our current team Huth would of soon got his footballing mojo back. I will miss the big German youth and I bet Ryan and SJW are gutted.

Improving is a double edged sword. We gain players and sell favorites. The more we improve the more other clubs will want our players. Hopefully we will gain new favorites.

We've been fortunate to have a whole series of class centre backs and RH is certainly part of that tradition. A llittle bit of our solid foundations crumbled away today.
....and it is very sad to see anyone having a pop at Wolly in this thread. Given a chance he will flourish.

Can't we just celebrate Huth rather than spout nonsensical drivel about the manager and calling OUR players moronic names? Of course not, this is the oatcake! Sad to see grown men having temper tantrums over a player leaving... Robert Huth was solid for SCFC, and deserves our thanks and praise, but to start calling our players stupid names, well it shows the level of intelligence of some posters.
