He didn't diss Stoke but he has left Stoke so not really bothered what he does. I disagree completely. Hope he performs well in the Champions League and fulfills his potential. Don't Sevilla play Barca in the Super Cup?

He didn't have to be so complimentary to Stoke, and especially the fans! Great to hear and good luck to him ☺

Not to bad of business to be honest, he cost us 3mil we have had him for 3 seasons and he has improved our side, we have managed to get our 3mil back and an extra 4mil. he is a good player and still at a young age i cant blame him for wanting a change.
there is no point in keeping an unhappy player.
Good luck Nzonzie

I fixed a friends laptop a few weeks ago: it had become overrun with adware and viruses so much so that it was unusable. It had a similar user experience as going to the Sentinel website.

Now I have calmed down (stopped self harming) I fully accept the transfer and wish him the very best of luck. I hope he goes on to bigger and better things, sincerely. I wrote the above and I then read this piece and feel immensely proud of our club. There aren't many that leave SCFC and excel but I hope Fonz breaks the record and I am sure he will.

My feelings as well. His comments are a good advert for Stoke and MH could use them to convince other "up and coming" young players that their next step could be at Stoke, rather than the reserves of the "big 6".

Some of our better players will move on. Unfortunately, it's how it's always been and we're not the only club in that position. It's the first time it's happened for a good few years (unless copious amounts of alcohol are catching up) where we've lost a player we really didn't want to Onwards and upwards

It'll cost a lot of money to replace his 7 goals in 120 games. Pretty similar goal record to that of Morgan Schneirderling. A record that Man U seem to think is worth £25M.

Who has 2 years left on his contract opposed to nzonzis 1 So we are only looking for replacements from the pool of players who are out of contract, or right at the end of their contracts. I hope we are preapared to raise our salary levels if that is the case as these players (and their agents) expect to pocket most of the money that would be spent on transfer fees.

Nice words from Nzonzi and I believe it when he says them. He goes with my best wishes and will be applauded if he ever turns up at the Britt.
Begovic on the other hand can do one as far as Im concerned.

Seems strange to me that players who aren't good enough to go to a higher level and as such remain at the club until we decide to let them go get followed and praised, etc. once they eventually leave. Whereas someone like N'Zonzi who was fantastic for us but had the opportunity to leave in order to get CL football (and improve his chances of getting into the French team) get's a lot of 'good riddance' type posts aimed at him. Seems like sour grapes.
Personally, I'm interested to see how his career progresses over the coming years and I wish him luck.

Teammates backing one another shocker.
I am sure Pericard had a few public backings from the boys as well.
It is a bit daft to rate a player purely on their goal rate. Might aswell compare the goal scoring records to Jack Butland whilst we are at it. N'Zonzi offered way more in linking the play than to scoring the important goals. I thought this was blatantly obvious?

"Nzonzi only missed two league games for Stoke since joining from Blackburn on summer deadline day in 2012."
I thought Zonz's injury record (lack of) was almost as impressive as his play but I didn't realise it was as good as that.
I loved the guy, I'm still in denial that he has gone!

I think people have reacted like that because he put in a transfer request every summer he was here, not saying people are right to do so, just offering a possible explanation. If Bojan goes to a Champions League club in a couple of years, then I'll be surprised if you see too much sour grapes because of it.

I understand that mate, but for me he never let what happened behind the scenes impact his performances for the club. He's a massive part of what we've achieved in recent years and I'm a little surprised by how easily some people can write that off. Edit: I think the transfer fee also has something to do with it since a lot of people expected us to get more. However that's not down to him. If we got 30m for example I doubt anyone would be holding any grudges.

Did I miss the games when N'Zonzi played in an attacking role for us? He's a box to box midfielder ya fruitcake! Aside from Lampard and Gerrard not many of these type of players score many. Fabian Delph has a poorer goals to game record; most consider him to be a box to box player. When TP was in charge at SCFC N'Zonzi played very much in the cage. No one scores many from 40 yards behind the lone striker. Since LMH has been in charge we have mainly played 4-2-3-1. N'Zonzi has been usually used in one of the two holding positions with 4 players ahead of him. The responsiblity for goals has been largely placed on the striker, the wide men and the advanced central midfielder. I know all players are expected to score and I would certainly have liked for more goals from our CM players over the last few years but I don't really think N'Zonzi's goal record is that much worse than most other players who are given the same role.
