I've got six degrees and a first from Oxford University? How many GCSE's have you got Yea course you have Blatantly no common sense either way I've got enough common sense to pay Income Tax, Council Tax and V.A.T.., receive an occupational pension and own fully my flat. Why let the facts get in the way of your interesting if wayward opinions. However, I can now see why you were such a success in 'The Vicar of Dibley'

Yes No 100% Yes - some short memories on this thread[/b] Injuries are putting people off given the potential size of the fee, not short term memories.[/quote] -------------------- Half the team have been injured this season at some point this season. With quick players you get muscle injuries. Moses was the best player in the team until Bojan found his feet. We'd be getting a seriously top left winger if he comes, the fitness team are responsible for keeping him fit and I think they're capable of it.

Slight amendments. Odemwingie: I was very impressed by his comments in the Sentinel, now thinking he should start on Sunday {so he can break his first season duck, since he was 5yr old!}, be given a twelve month contract and the Freedom of Hanford. What a great bloke. We've done the decent thing as a Club in these situations. Allowing injured players the opportunity to rehabilitate, with good facilities, seemingly without contractual pressures {from an outside observer}. It may mark us out as a Club, a factor in attracting agents and players. So I'm swaying towards a full on YES. Starting Sunday another year of "He scores goals...." Wollscheid and Moses: stick.

As of right now, no no yes
Odemwingie has been invisible since coming back. I really want him to start on Sunday so we can see him get a full match in, because I really want him to do well and stay. However he is older and coming off a big injury. Difficult one.
Wolly no
Moses yes, though hesitantly. He really was a dynamic presence out there, though he was often injured and he was old good for about 75 minutes a game.

Wingie - YES
Wolly - NO
Moses - yes to a loan or a cheap buy which reflects his recent injury record.
In the case of Moses, if we did buy him cheap or take him on loan we'd still need a specialist left footer to play on the right of the front three. Moses appears to be able to cover both sides (well, he did at Wigan) and so would be useful competition for Arnie + AN Other.
Wingie is worth another year providing the medics are happy that he has recovered from his injury.
Wolly's lack of pace is the big worry for me. He's a good footballer but there are teams and players I would be terrified to play him against.

Who remembers this?
With the benefit of hindsight I got the Wooly and Wingie calls right and Moses wrong.
On the point of substance, which was that we needed to know who we were selling before we decided to who we were buying, I was bob on in spades.
For example if we were keeping Crouch then why the fuck did we hemorrhage £6 million on Joselu a kind of poor mans Crouch? You might say to me 'Why does it matter, it's not your money any way?'. Well it doesn't except that with that dosh we could perhaps instead have acquired for example a proper center half.
Just feels like the summer transfer dealings were all a bit random.

I went yes for Wingie but then changed my mind around June time. The last remaining sentimental bone in my body was thrown out then.

I changed my mind when I actually thought about it and didn't let my heart rule my head and it was before he signed a new deal too.

Our best attacker from last season for me and key to our away success. Not replacing him with a pacy winger is very daft.

I never overly rated Victor, think he's very one dimensional and his inclusion on the left hampered Arnie's continued Odyssey. Players with pace like Moses aren't that unusual. He often had to cut back and did nowt. Shit at tracking back. Knocked the odd corner over and ran at folk when infrequently fit. Made us left sided heavy. I'm obviously over stating things for effect, because he's gone and was only ever keen to play for us to earn himself a place at Chelsea. He couldn't do that. Fuck him off out of our thinking. As for a replacement? So is Shaqiri not a pacy winger, if he wants to be? The 23 year old Shaq is a far funkier wide option than Moses will ever be. And we own him.

We needed one very pacy one who is very direct. Moses for me was our best attacker last season. The stats back it up.

Not one dimensional - header against Everton, goal against Citeh at the weekend, pacy break that got Walker sent off at Spurs and wonder goal against Rochdale. Plenty of goals assists and variation in his play. The only player who hampers Arnie's Odyssey is his own ridiculous lack of consistency which several other posters highlight alongside me. He carried us completely until Bojan hit form. Look at our away game results with and without him, it's remarkable. Players like Moses, Bolasie, Zaha ect are gold dust go teams like us. Shaq is a bigger name than Moses in world football but he'll do well to have the same impact.

No doubt a great player, but how was it a massive miss? 1) we didn't own his contract and 2) he clearly had zero interest in moving north of Watford.
