He's done nothing for Stoke, and his reaction to the Chelsea fans applause was a disgrace, so it's a no from me. I find it sad that people are making such a big deal out of Gerrard when players of our own are leaving. I think his reaction to the Chelsea fans was spot on. They have given him dogs abuse in the past and rightly so. I dont think 60secs of applause at the end of 17 years can erase that. It's football, its tribal. Its great!! We should do the same. As someone mentioned above it does not need to be overly hostile but I think we should be the pantomime villain next week. We can applaud him before the game and afterwards if we win. In between he should be on the end of some good natured ribbing and abuse...booing included. No, I'd rather do nothing. We have players of our own to celebrate.

It shocks me that there are still people out there that believe that 'gangster' shit. I'd do a bit of research if I were you! H Not Gerrard related but i noticed your post count, if it took you a minute to write every post you would have spent 14 days solid non stop writing on this board. im guessing most posts would of taken about 2 minutes. which would make a month of your life writing on here. god knows how much browsing you do on here but i can imagine alot. probably near a year of your life has been spent on here. now i dont know who has the most "interesting" life, you for spending nearly a year browsing on one site. or me for going to google to find out how long you have spent here.

It will show Stoke City as a class supporters who appreciate a quality footballer as do Liverpool fans over the years who stay and applaud lower league teams who have beaten them before.
They have also given opposition players a right good send off as they have been subbed at Anfield because of there ability against them.
We can do the same and when it happens it's a brilliant moment. Steven Gerrard for me has been one of the greatest midfielders of a generation.
It's a sad end to see a Truly Great player leave our shores and career in England. I know a good footballer when I see one so I will applaud the lad.

Why is it sad?
If he'd done something for England it might be but he hasn't.

Can't understand all the hatred for one of England's better players over the past 16 years. He always gave 100% and seems a decent family man unlike your John Terry's of the world.
We'd look a sad bunch booing him on his last game. Show some class.

Why change for his last game when I've spent his career not liking him?

I thought you'd be a Gerrard fan, I don't understand what's not to like about him. 1) I hate Liverpool more than any other football club in the land. 2) He is the epitome of that God forsaken football club. 3) He's been bang average for England and kept better players (Lampard and Scholes) out of the side in their favoured positions. He's obviously a very good player but he's done nothing for me.

IMO the Gerrard retirement fanfare is pure and simply because he plays for that poor victimised football club called Liverpool. Many players better than him have retired or moved on without twattish flag flying demonstrated by the phlegm garglers and the media Jizzfest. Beckham, Lampard, Scholes to name a few.

Add to that he has achieved stardom and status, earning a week the kind of money many would happily take a year, travelled the world and being loved and idolised by many. Yes my heart bleeds for the millionaire footballer who is on the the verge of retiring in his 30's. I can only begin to imagine his pain this summer, lying in the sun on a tropical beach for several weeks wondering how he can possibly rebuild his shattered life. If only he had the time and resources to seek the very best of professional help in order to heal his emotional wounds. Oh the humanity

Enjoy your privileged lifestyle of being part of the idle rich. No bitterness on my part! Ha

Anybody seen that pic of a brenden rodgers lookalike walking down the high street wearing top half suit, mini skirt and high heels for bottom half with the caption " brenden has just saved £150'000 a week on steven gerrard's wages and now he feels epic"

Didn't Gerrard look after Ryan on his England call up after the Ramsey affair? The main reason for not making a big deal about it, by abusing him any more than normal, is the light it reflects on our club. I doubt he'll turn up anyway. He'll do a Danny Rose! who gives a fuck how the light is reflected, give him a nice ovation or not, 2 weeks later its back to normal of stoke are wankers etc etc. We owe nobody in this league any sentiment, most dont like stoke and its great because we dont care if they like us or not. Our own modern day legend ricardo fuller didnt get the send off he deserved so why send off a scouser who has done fuck all for england or scfc. Bollocks to him. Liverpool fans are among the most deluded in the country. Gerarrd can suck my root

Having had his big send-off at Anfield yesterday, I really can't seem him bowing out in front of a potentially hostile Stoke crowd next weekend.
It wouldn't surprise me if his non-selection was made clear by Liverpool towards the end of next week.

If he does play next week then he gets applauded by me. I will happily give him the standing ovation the bloke rightly deserves. As will the majority of the crowd. Stoke fans have always been class and we will show it next week I have no doubt.

But it just highlights how good he was at properly timing his runs and getting on the ball to strike. it. Defenders/midfielders couldn't get there in time to do their job so it would deflect. It's not lucky either.

I don't remember all this fuss when Shearer left Newcastle and he actually retired. Why all this palaver?
Gerrard is a very good player who has never won the title and has been a decent servant in an under performing England side. Nothing more. Complete overkill.

All the media at the moment is the old Liverpool lot from 25 years ago and he is Mr. Liverpool. As far as theyre concerned anything and everything to do with the club is the very best. Never mind that hes been a bit of a failure considering how good they think he is.

He played for one club for so long, big deal. He's Gary Neville without all the medals and we had none of this bollocks when he jacked it in. Pretty sure Gary Neville would admit that Gerrard is twice the player he was Gary Neville was a world class RB. There were times when he would have gotten into the Earth squad to play in the inter galatic cup. Steven Gerrard was a decent midfielder with almost no positional discipline. At no time in his career was in the world's top dozen midfielders. England forced Scholes to play out of position to accommodate Gerrard's random wandering around attempting Hollywood passes. Gerrard was good enough for a decent Liverpool team to build their team around; if he'd played for a truly great team he would have had to learn real discipline and would have spent a fair bit of time on the bench too.
