The supporters council will be furious. Not according to Angela Smith in today's paper - although two members (I think it was 2?) will be sad that their pleas for higher prices were ignored.

I agree season ticket is reasonable value but I think they have the opportunity to reduce prices across the board, particularly the scandalous matchday prices . We moan about how much we have to pay to go to Chelsea, Villa etc but unless you have a season ticket, which doesn't suit everyone, then we are just as bad. The club seem happy to just stand still rather than develop the fan base. In business if you stand still you will soon start to go backwards. Forward thinking required regarding expansion of the ground etc, we are quickly getting to the point when it is now or never. I don't want something for nothing but fans get the feel good factor when they see progress both on and off the field. I think the supporters council should be putting over the expansion, ticket prices. , safe standing issues over more strongly or come out and say categorically that the club aren't interested and then we will know exactly where we stand. The current pricing is in no way "football for all"

Be a great gesture if the club reduced the match day prices to something like £25 for Cat B, £30 for Cat A and £35 for Cat A*. £45-£50 for a category A* fixture is a scandal for those unable to get a season ticket....

Part of the rationale is to shaft the away fans to be fair, Man Utd will sell 3,000 whether you charge £20, £50 or £80 and it has to be a like for like price....

Would've been a big shock if they wouldn't have maintained the freeze - but still commendable. We've got to take the lead on matchday prices now. A modest reduction there and we can be trailblazers.

I'm not trying to be negative but just because you are pleased because you have a season ticket isn't what it's all about . Think about the people who have to pay matchday prices if they want to watch their club, people perhaps less fortunate than you . All this category pricing is taking the piss as well. Suggesting £35 for a category a game, again taking the piss. Season tickets should have been reduced, matchday prices £20. With all the money around we are being mugged off!

Categorising games is the biggest fucking scam going. I pay to watch Stoke City. Why the fuck should I have to pay more to sit in the same shitty plastic seat, to watch my team play a supposed better standard of opposition. Only when the club address this rip off exercise can they truly say they have supporters interests at heart. ??? Sent from my SM-G900F using proboards

Anyone with any complaint whatsoever needs to give their heads a wobble Well done Stoke Dead right mate. Imagine not having a season ticket because you might have to work some weekends or just not able to simply afford one. Imagine then having the nerve to complain that £40-45 is a fucking con to watch a game of football. Give your head a wobble indeed. Sent from my SM-G900F using proboards

I've got a season ticket so obviously a price freeze is good news.
The comments about matchday prices being too expensive are very valid IMO and I can't believe those people saying it seem to be swept under the carpet for moaning.
Maybe the expense of a matchday ticket is another factor that may prevent people coming down to watch? I'm sure we'd all love to see the ground finished with corners filled in. But to fill that then maybe a reduction in ticket price is the way to go to attract those fans who can't make every game due to other commitments.
However the knock on effect of reducing ticket prices on a match to match basis, to say £20 that was mentioned earlier, would mean that a season ticket price isn't that attractive in terms of price but only to guarantee a seat.

I'm guessing he means it won't be reciprocated when we go to other grounds, that's what needs the buy in of all the clubs....

To be honest anyone who can attend 50% of the games should buy one of these cheap single seat jobbies and be quids in,sell the remainder of the games if you want also. I regularly take guests to games so i think i will purchase one.

The demand is much higher for one than other. Look at it as a positive rather than the negative If you like MSP and don't like Madonna you're getting quite a good deal aren't you? The game against WBA is quite likely to be much better for a Stoke fan than a game against Man Utd, so you're getting quite a good deal there too.

It needs the big clubs to buy in first. Unfortunately casual goers suffer in the mean while
