Me and Stafford Stokie attended a meeting around August time with one of the community blokes regarding hanging flags at the Brit (which by the way nothing has happened since). He said the club were planning to fill the corner in at summer 2015 providing we were more or less selling out every home game this season. Hope this happens it will help in windy conditions and make it look better Sent from my GT-I9505 using proboards

I heard a rumor that one corner could get filled in at the end of the season. Does anyone else know anything more?

One of the aspects you can still strongly criticise the club for. (to be fair they've been great on such a ticket pricing and away travel)
However,
They have plenty of money coming in right now - decent team - decent manager - training grounds done
And yet, we cant seem to get our heads around having a 30k + stadium (minimum for the EPL really) and in being so 'Smalltown'
(Ridiculous state of affairs for a now worldwide brand)
+ Do ourselves out of at least half a dozen, 30k plus attendancies every single season
(which incidently would fairly quickly pay for this relatively small outlay (£10 - 15m)
and finally - at least make the stadium look (ON TV - finished)

Wouldn't cost anywhere near £10m Footings are in place. Half that at the very very most.

Derby often get better gates than us in a smaller area. Derby's Population is over 248Thousand, about a thousand short of S.O.T, I know we have Castle, but we are the smallest City to have 2 teams I think.

And before the 2 seats together people start you can them together if you get ya shit together early enough. every league game this season has been a sell out or maximum a couple of hundred short of a sell out in the home end so to be fair that's just horse shit. and not everyone has a lifestyle that allows them to get tickets 4 weeks before a game, trust me if you want 2 or 3 seats together that's when you have to get them.......

So when we go on a shit run and all the fickle fuckers don't bother we will be sat on a stadium with even more empty seats and look fantastic on the tele. No thanks.

Empty seats every week dosnt neccersarily mean theyve not been bought. You will get season ticket holders who for a number of reasons might have to miss a few matches.

I agree but how many seats are given away every week because they don't sell? Loads in blocks 10, 17, 18 and shit loads in the south stand if the away team don't take the bigger allocation. If they didn't give loads away we would see empty seats all over and big blocks of them.

Didn't the club lose money last season? oooooo half a dozen, well thats worth the millions. Waste of time, waste of money, who gives a shit what the stadium looks like, it makes no difference to what really matters, the performance on the pitch.

SMALL TOWN - SMALL MINDED
Cant believe it escapes some people on here even fucking Derby Have a bigger ground than us !
lets stay in our mud fucking huts eh ? - and never aspire to be bigger - better - greater
I want the very best for my club and Stoke on Trent even thought Im not local -and yet, the mentality of some actually defies logic belief and common sense
There are clubs literally queuing up behind us to take our place and we either grow or, stagnate and be caught up
are those happy to stay as we are, not recognising this in all things - not just football - and right now there is massive opportunity for our
club and S.O.T. to grow beyond where its traditionally been ?
in this regard, as much as Im optimistic about the future of our team - I actually despair in this regard

So when we go on a shit run and all the fickle fuckers don't bother we will be sat on a stadium with even more empty seats and look fantastic on the tele. No thanks. Have a look who some of our lowest crowds were against last season? Man City just over 25,000. Chelsea just over 25,000. Everton just under 26,000. ManUre and Arsenal not sell outs for the first time. Nothing to do with fickle fuckers as you put it -although you seem to have some bizarre backward view about not growing the fan base - it's about cost and the walk up price for a lot of people for Category A* and A games is beyond the reach of many. 2,000 extra seats marketed correctly will get snapped up for a big chunk of the games, and if we play Swansea on a winters night in front of some empty seats so what? Whether you refuse to accept their is a problem getting seats together is neither here nor there as many people know it to be fact. we have a perfect opportunity to grow as a club and it's the perfect time to take it

I don't know why the club are stalling over extending the stadium. I have tried to buy 2 seats together for various games this season and it is not possible . Just tried again for Chelsea and west brom games, no chance. On top of that Utd match is sold out. I know I left it late but lots of people can't plan too far in front due to work commitments and stuff. What the hell are they waiting for ? A downturn in performances or relegation so they won't have to bother. Strike while the iron is hot! The cost of filling in a corner is relatively small change for an established Premier League club.

If we expand they will either just give away more tickets or have more empty seats. It will be like pre prem all over again. I don't even want to think about if/when we get relegated again and all the prem boys pissoff again.

I love the fact that there are now kids wearing stoke colours and not the shit or the victims and the fact that we get more people at games. I just know what will happen if we did go down again. Look how many we gained when we got to the cup final. They got their half season tickets for that year but how many renewed?

increased away allocation =cheaper tickets
yep agreed - give the bigger away supports the entire south stand and, as mentioned above more seating options for the 'walk ins' more sensibly priced and the away
allocation increased
surely places like Borusia Dortmund in the Bundesliga is the model where ticketing is supposedly much lower priced than the Prem
ergo - lots more bums on seats
is it beyond fathom given our catchment area that stoke city could not command regular 30k gates ?

I'm sure some did which is why we ought to support any initiative to encourage more people, especially kids, to attend our games. Speculate to accumulate and all that.

income from Sky 2012/13 = £44m
income from Sky 2013/14 = £76m
and we lost money ??? - find that difficult to believe
as said elsewhere on here too -what we do now will be for the generations to come
unless - we sit on our fucking arses and do nothing in this regard

Like you, I'd be gob smacked if we lost money in 2013/14 given the increase in Sky money - even though we made a loss in 2012/13. We should soon know the answer.
