Players like arnie don't shine in a one off game or 20 min sub appearances. Arnie got better the more he played last season when he got accustomed to how his teammates played and how our system worked. The problem is who we leave out but Give the lad a sustained run he will soon be back to his best That is his downfall then isn't it because we have players who right now can play better and put a shift in so why risk it? THIS! he got into it after a while last season and did very very well....can excuse him for that, new team, new setup, new country etc. i have no problem with that but he doesn't have any excuse this season does he or are we to allow him 2-3 months every season from here on in to get into the swing of things to the detriment of the rest of the team in the meantime? no-one else seems to need constant gametime for weeks and weeks to get started so why should he be any different? i like Arnie but it really is very very simple and the rules for everyone else apply to him.....regardless of how well he's playing, if people in the squad are currently playing better than him then they play and he doesn't. they're the rules for any player in a football team and it's no different for him. if it takes him weeks to get going at the start of seasons then it's up to him to put the graft in and sort himself out, not for the rest of the team to carry a passenger until he starts firing. those moaning about him being overrated etc. are way wide of the mark (he showed last season what he is capable of when he gets going) but in terms of his current form, we're just not good enough as a squad as yet to be able to afford the luxury of playing someone off form week in, week out until they finally start to get on their game. having said that, some of the conspiracy theories on here so far are bloody laughable. talk about coming up with conclusions first and then desperately finding some kind of evidence no matter how tenuous to back those conclusions up with..."His mate is in the UK now so he must be on the piss every night.......he didn't woop, holler and demand a ticker tape parade when Muni scored so he's obviously not happy here.....he lifted his arm to scratch his pit hair at one point in the game so that must have been him waving goodbye to the crowd" jesus!!!! he probably isn't happy not playing every game but does that automatically equate to him being pissed off with the management staff??? he may well be frustrated at himself and understand completely that it's up to him to earn his place and have no issue at all with not being selected because of that but then again that's not as exciting a story is it i suppose!

I quite enjoyed the theory that he was upset that he's no longer the 'big star' now that Bojan had arrived. That theory seems to have been replaced with the belief he's had his nose put out of joint by the arrival of Moses.

The truth is that nobody on here has a clue what is on his mind as they are not in his circle. It's all supposition and nonsense.

What was the reason Arnautovic and Hughes were having a 'tet a tet' at the end for...? Any one know? Wasnt just at the end mate, Hughes was on the touchline in the 2nd half and they were both shouting and pointing at each other.

@muniesa92: Amazing night!!! I'm very happy with my two goals and for coming on to help the team to win!!???????????Goaaaarn Stoke!!! t.co/51M3kxsjMVTo those who think his reaction to this goal was one of a disinterested player Does that mean Ireland is the same ? It's called an Arnie agenda I've read on here that Hughes and Arnie were shouting and pointing at each other. I doubt Hughes has an Arnie agenda either, probably fed up like the rest that he ain't performing.

There was a really brief glimpse of Arnie and Hughesy chatting with each other at the end of the game last night. There was no arm waving, shouting or pointing at all. I'm not sure why people who saw it would suggest that happened either. From what I saw, it just looked like the manager was asking him what had happened to him.

There was during the match Dave especially from Arnie. Im putting it down to being annoyed with himself. It did look as though Hughes tried to put his arm around at the end.

Well, he's always waving his arms around during games, and I agree with you, that's part of his make up. He obviously sets himself high standards but he's not meeting them at the moment. I hope that's what happened between him and his manager at the end. I didn't pick up on anything sinister between them.

I saw the clip at the end of the game too. Arnie didn't seem happy but I wouldn't read too much into it.
He's not reaching the levels that he set himself at the end of last season and it's obviously disappointing to him.
I'd much rather him show a bit of emotion, than just walk off the pitch disinterested by it all.
Arnie was outstanding for the latter few months of the last campaign. People are too quick to write him off. I'm sure he'll be back at the races sooner rather than later.

Where's the Ireland thread? 7 pages of this shit?
He probably doesn't deserve a start at the moment but that's about all there is to it. The guy can do things no-one else in the team can do, and is by far our most creative player.

Arnie has set higher expectations than Ireland, hence why it draws more of a reaction when he performs poorly.
