Should we be discussing his complete disinterest in the team at the moment?
Is this especially pertinent as well going by what he came out and said last week about wanting to play for a better team?
The lad looks like he wants to be anywhere else but stoke at the moment, Which is sad considering how he ended the season with us

Does he? He just looks like a bloke short of form and confidence, who can barely get a game to me. Hopefully it'll come.

He's at Stoke and struggling to get in the team at the moment. He needs to understand that he needs us more than we need him. He's got lots of ability and lots of petulance. At the moment it's the petulance that's winning and his wayward attitude seems to be on the up. Arnautovic isn't the finished article he thinks he is. It is work in progress and we should be his launching pad.

Disinterested in the team, yet celebrated both our goals?? He hadnt played for 260 mins of football before coming on. No way he was going to match the intensity needed.
He looks shot of confidence, ridiculously out of form & needs some serious encouragement & support.
He was a key player during the 2nd half of last season, cut the lad some slack. He will come good. Luckily for us we arent reliant on him as much as we were last season.

He seems an arrogant lad who knows how good he can be, but at the same time when he doesnt live up to that he gets pissed off at himself more than anything. It seems like some people can mix it with petulance and even lazyness but that stat list of arnie/assaidi/walters last season showed how much he does. We are misfiring but nowhere near as bad at this point last season - I had serious worries after the Genoa friendly about how toothlessly we were passing side to side, and its nowhere near as bad this year - Diouf is scoring, we just have to figure out our attack, really - Odemwingie is a massive loss but we can surely compensate once we're firing.. or at least figure out our best chance of firing

His play at the start of this season is eerily similar to some of his early performances last season. When he was dropped in the first half of last season there were few arguments from anyone on here. His performances post Wingie's arrival silenced his critics.
Hopefully Hughes and his management team can work out why he is so inconsistent and what, if any, significance there is in the apparent chalk and cheese nature of the two halves of his season.
Fingers crossed that a start against Sunderland on Tuesday will give Arnie a chance to start rebuilding form and confidence. We have always performed best when we have two wingers/wide players on song rather than just one.
PS - I'm hoping that the fact that the Newcastle game is on the Monday rather than the Saturday, will mean that Moses will also start on Tuesday given that he will have six days to recover.

Anyone who took even a passing interest in Italian football when he was at Inter knows he doesn't react well to not being picked. He will come good with games.

Well we need either him to sort his head out, or Assaidi to get fit as we till look unbalanced with no right wing threat

There is no need to scapegoat Arnautovic for whatever. He was sorted out by Hughes after 2 games this season, when everyone played a really bad football.
Hope he soon gets the chance to start.

He definitely needs games as he doesn't look himself at all.
It'll definitely happen for him as he's too good a player for it not to.
That said I thought he was the wrong player to bring on yesterday as we lost pace and cutting edge when Moses went off. Assaidi would have been the sub for me personally.

He certainly looks slow and out of form! Not half the player that ended the season, and I really thought he had put on some pounds when I saw him play in our friendlies too. Maybe complacency has played a part here?

His reputation is getting into your heads and you're trying to look for it. The truth is it isn't there any more. He's done absolutely nothing wrong. He hasn't even complained about being dropped. As bayern said, he's just short of form. And as for people saying about his body language, it's exactly the same whether he's on the bench, playing well or walking out of the training ground. That's just him.

You may be right - but (when he is on form) the advantage Arnie has over Assaidi is that the ball sticks to him better then it does to Assaidi. Given that we had a lead, I'm not surprised that Hughes felt Arnie was the better option. He does need pitch time though, and as I said above, I hope he gets a start on Tuesday - and I hope Assaidi gets a longish run out at sub - although I hope Moses is fit to start - I want to win the game and Moses could be the key.

Don't think he did anything wrong yesterday but he probably was the wrong sub to bring on. To say he didn't get involved is an understatement
I would go as far as questioning his attitude but hopefully it's confidence.

I just don't see how anyone can criticize a player who was involved for such a short period. Once QPR scored, that was it, they closed the game out and held firm.
He needs to play Tuesday, we can't leave him on the bench and give him a cameo role. He's too good for that and we all know he is.

What was wrong with his attitude when he tracked the right back for 40 yards to try and block a cross?
People are seeing what they want to see.

Are you both sure, that we needed "pace" during the last 10 minutes leading in a game outwards?? Strangely enough Arni had the pace 90 minutes in the national game against Sweden 12 days ago. Think the aim of putting Arni in was to ensure the victory and not to produce an offensive fireworks

Moses has nailed down Arnie's position so unless he gets injured Arnie needs to play wide right. Can he play there? In theory yes as he is stronger on his right foot . It will be interesting to see as Assaidi will also be wanting that spot as well.MH will sort it as Arnie will come good again. Remember this is why he only cost around £3m

Although Arnie did not set Loftus Road on fire when he came on, his first contribution was to track back all the way down to the edge of the penalty box and put in a very important tackle without conceding a freekick. So to say that he isn't bother is not fair in my opinion. Still as an out-and-out winger taking on the defender my preferred choice - by more than a country mile - is Assaidi
