I would have put Assaidii on yesterday to give us an out ball when we were under pressure , Arnie didn't stretch them when he came on and we had few good breaks once moses had gone

I think Arnie has the strength and passing to play in a three man midfield , don't see him displacing Moses or Diouf

Although Arnie did not set Loftus Road on fire when he came on, his first contribution was to track back all the way down to the edge of the penalty box and put in a very important tackle without conceding a freekick. So to say that he isn't bother is not fair in my opinion. Still as an out-and-out winger taking on the defender my preferred choice - by more than a country mile - is Assaidi Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Arnie is a better player than Assaidi. He's stonger, better defensively and better creatively. Moses was fucked and Arnie was the right man to bring on. We were hardly under the cosh in those last 10 minutes. We were comfortable which is what makes it more galling that we conceded 2 goals from only 1 shot on target. To blame Arnie or his introduction is ridiculous though. It was a game we deserved to win and should have won. The only thing Hughes got wrong was not to pick himself on the bench so he could put himself on to show the rest of them how to finish. Crouch, Moses, Adam, N'zonzi and Diouf all had chances to win the game for us and they should have done just that.

He lost the ball a few times yesterday but then chased down a number of players to try & win it back every time. Lacking in match practice and fitness but looked desperate to prove himself - he'll come good with a few more games under his belt.

People are seeing what they want to see. Nail on the head. People wrote him off this stage last year and look what happened. Genuinely think he misses Odem on the other wing to help stretch the game, he was also an unknown quantity last year. Teams will have brushed up on him this year.

As for a lot of players, our manager and stoke city in general, posters were that pissed of they were proved wrong last season they can't wait to stick the boot in after 2 poor games. Agenda driven spunktrumpets.

Hopefully he will find his feet and get everyone galvanised again.

His reputation is getting into your heads and you're trying to look for it. The truth is it isn't there any more. He's done absolutely nothing wrong. He hasn't even complained about being dropped. As bayern said, he's just short of form. And as for people saying about his body language, it's exactly the same whether he's on the bench, playing well or walking out of the training ground. That's just him. This x 1000. It's like people want him to fail.

The truth is other teams know he's one of our main threats now so they try and mark him out of the game. Everyone was moaning this time last year too.

Should we be discussing his complete disinterest in the team at the moment? Is this especially pertinent as well going by what he came out and said last week about wanting to play for a better team? The lad looks like he wants to be anywhere else but stoke at the moment, Which is sad considering how he ended the season with us What a load of bollox, he quite clearly celebrated our goals, the fact he isnt playing is testament to the strength of our squad.he quite clearly didnt reach his high level from the end of last season so mh quite rightly fixed that problem by bringing in moses. only arnie himself can get back into the team by impressing the manager at training. I hope he starts and has a good game tomorrow at sunderland giving mh a welcome selection headache.

Hughes isn't going to risk it when our squad depth is as good as it is. Why bother? I want to see Arnie play both Tuesday and against Newcastle. Not the full game, but to expect him to come into an away cup tie and produce miracles is a bit harsh. He had an absolute stormer against Newcastle at home last year.

He is just a few yards off the pace, it will come back to him although it was made to look more evident and obvious the fact he replaced Moses on Sat who was like a machine. Arnies first run was trying to gather the ball down our left side, he was about 4 yards in front on Matt Phillips but still got out run, that's gonna knock your confidence for sure..

I think I would start Arnie on the left and give Moses a chance on the right and try and push Diouf forward a bit. I appreciate this didn't work in the early stages, but with Moses pushing on there's no reason why it couldn't work. We're relying on Crouch who's 33. He will struggle to complete 90 minutes week in, week out and as such I think when we have an opportunity to mix it up, like against a fairly average Newcastle team, that's the time.

Drop is a strong word. Crouch will not be able to consistently play 90 minutes Paul. Pull your head out of Football Manager or FIFA for a minute. Life doesn't work like that. A full 90 minutes on Saturday, followed by some contribution against Sunderland could see him pretty tired when he comes up against Newcastle.

What do you mean 'pull my head out'?
No need to get personal metalhead - I politely asked you a simple question and now you're telling me how life works ... jeez.
Surely you're able to have a discussion, without instantly getting all defensive about it.
You'd drop/replace/leave Crouch on the bench so that Arnie can start.
Fine.

Moses has nailed down Arnie's position so unless he gets injured Arnie needs to play wide right. Can he play there? In theory yes as he is stronger on his right foot . It will be interesting to see as Assaidi will also be wanting that spot as well.MH will sort it as Arnie will come good again. Remember this is why he only cost around £3m Moses is pretty much two footed and I think he can operate just as well on the right as on the left.
