When I lived off Campbell Road I used to drink in the Plough Motel and a lot of Stoke players drank in here and played pool, the only ones I got into a round with were Toddy Orlygsson and Mark Stein. Felt sorry for Stein as he was desperate to escape Chelsea permanently as they bought him and couldn't be arsed with him. Nice bloke, mad fan of all things football used to watch it in there with him

Not a Stoke player however I have spent a considerable amount of time over the years in the company of Martin Peters after selling him a property.
A true gentleman and family man unaffected by his fame.
Also Brian Greenhof before his recent death bought me seveal drinks over the years as he was a regular visitor at our cricket club. Sadly a man who struggled with his fame and without doubt lead to his early passing.
