Right, this is it folks, the perfect distraction from the Man City game. I think we need a location and a few small points of detail to lend your entries a little authenticity. I'll go first. No Stoke player has ever bought me a drink but I have had a drink with 2 Stoke players: Ian Moores (RIP) after he retired at Maxims night club in Newcastle. It was late at night and we were both half cut at the bar. Moores was reflecting on the fact that since he retired no one new him anymore and as such he was unable to pull and going home alone. I told him he should try walking a day in my shoes, my evenings in that place almost always ended half pissed and alone at the bar like this Peter Hampton the old full back we bought from Leeds United at Lyme Valley Squash Club. Hampton had been drafted in as the "celebrity" to dish out the silverware for a tournament the squash club had hosted, that's how desperate things were down there! In fairness Hampton seemed like a pretty grounded guy So in conclusion no Stoke player has bought me a drink ever and no Stoke player has been willing to have a drink with me since the late 80's. Some thanks for a lifetime of dedicated support you could say. I'm starting to think perhaps I am no longer cool, ridiculous though that may seem

Never had a drink with one however a fair while ago now I got the chance to watch the Stoke game from the director's box and when I went for a piss low and behold Ryan Shawcross was at the urinal next to me! So I guess the polar opposite of having a drink with a player! Interestingly another game I was at a box for one James Beattie managed to lock himself out of his own box, was stranded on the balcony and had to come back in through ours

Lee Chapman bought me a drink, but it was while he played for Arsenal. In his first year there, he used to come back up to Stoke most weekends, meet up with his best mate Adrian Heath, who was then at Everton and they would often go to the Cock Inn at Stableford. I knew a guy who was at school with Chapman at Trentham High. Me and my mate and a few others including my sister were out at the Cock Inn. Chapman and Inchy showed up, Chapman fancied my sister, so he wandered over, chatted with my mate for a while, bought us all a drink and then started hitting on my sister.
EDIT: Peter Marteinsson bought me a drink as well. He was a neighbour of my parents and they became very good friends. When he left, he took our family out for a meal and paid for the whole thing.

I had a chat with Crouchy at a bar in Hoxton and then his Mrs outside in the smoking area (had about a 20 min convo with her and my mates about our nans...yup)...is it weird I found him more attractive than her though?
His dancing was also something to behold.
Both are really nice...

When Geoff Hurst took on a pub (the Sheet Anchor) at Whitmore I made sure I visited as he was my idol at the time. I walked in and there was no one at all in except Geoff behind the bar. I bought a pint and stood there absolutely silent and totally transfixed! I just couldn't find a single word to say to him! What a bloody idiot eh?

My sister went to a Stoke pub for a dinner with other retired people she used to work with and she had a purse full of change and in her words "A wonderful gentleman saw me struggling with change and bought me and my friend a bottle of wine" she told him it would be too expensive but he insisted telling her he was a footballer at Stoke, my sister said tell me your name as my brother supports Stoke and he may know youso whats your name.
She then rings me up and said have you heard of a Stoke player named Ricardo Fuller he was ever such a nice man.

In the early 70's I went to a reserve game at the Vic and found myself acting as ballboy in the Boothen End. It was bloody big with shots nowhere near me, takes some time to retrieve balls. Anyway, I hung around to get autographs after the match and then got a bus to NCastle, getting on I was tapped on the shoulder by Terry Smith who paid my fare, thanked me for getting the ball for them and chatted to me during the ride. Cannot remember a word of the conversation, but the first time I was starstruck. Terry Smith, I think he made the first team but can't be sure. Somewhat different from our current fringe player, I expect.

Tony Kelly brought me a pint, because I was involved in him having his book signing at Stoke last year before the spurs game

Towards the end of last season Crouchy was at the pub just round the corner from my work in Camden at lunchtime, my colleague who's a Liverpool fan saw him there and had a chat, then came back to work and told me to get up there. I was going to go up to the pub just to say hi to him, but couldn't be arsed
I used to live in Portsmouth and whilst there my next door neigbour told me she'd slept with a Pompey player called Liam Lawrewnce (at the time that he'd just gone down to Pompey)

I actually think we had 2 Terry Smiths on the books at the time. The one I was on about had black hair and played up front, fairly slight of build. A quick look at Wiki says he played 3 times in 70-71 and scored a goal before moving to Shrewsbury. I will do some research on my programme collection. And a thoroughly nice chap.

Mike Pejic in May 1972 on my 18th Birthday, Miners Arms Packmoor. Mike was a mate of my Dad and run the Miners Arms FC in those days. Top man Micky Pejic but I wish he would get of Arnie's back.

I used to work with Noel Blake's mrs, which was an absolute godsend at work do's. Many's the time we ended up on rounds, propping the bar up chatting about 80s and 90s Stoke teams and generally avoiding the tedious small talk with the office lot. I think he genuinely appreciated it too - nowt worse than a partner's work do...

Brian Little!
Student back in 1999, working as a waiter in a well know Spanish tapas bar, and served his table.
Managed to upsell the bill to crazy levels on his 'last supper' bill .
Adrian Heath was also a regular, and bought me a drink regularly . Unfortunately, to this day, he still thinks my name is Andy!
Oh well.
Both decent guys, but typical ex 80s footballers mentality. Both probably rather be at 'The Queens' over 25 night on a Thursday night, away from their wives.
Cameron Jerome, when I moved to Brum for drama school. Big tipper every time, (20 pounds) ordering triple brandy and cokes for his mates, while he stuck to the rose champagne. Nice guy, never seen the 'Shining'. Unbelievable Jeff!
Same bar. Deloh , and the French Villa defender(at the time), the latter starting a fight, and was kicked out. The former came in every week, standing by the bar, waiting to be recognised by girls. One slow night, it wasn't happening. I suggested, perhaps he should come in wearing his football kit, so he could increase his chances? Wasn't impressed, and the mentioned scuffle commenced.
Dwight Yorke, same bar. Bought me a drink, but didn't tip. Doesn't smile a lot, which shocked me from his TV persona.
David Dunn, friend of a friend, came along for my mates bar opening. Everyone kissing his ass' standing by the entrance. My mate, who moved down with me, and a Stoke fan, shouted 'Dunny, Dunny! He looked round with a smile, thinking he was a Brum fan. My mate replied, 'close the door mate ?' Classic.
Oh, it's a thread about Stoke players? Oh well, hope you enjoyed it just the same.

None have bought me a pint, never socialised with them away from the ground.
If I see them when I'm out, I leave them to it. Seen Lennie many a time in Hanley going the tattoo parlour but just leave him to it.

The Colleseum Stafford 89/90ish Peter Beagrie and Cliff Carr were in there and Beagrie bought me and my 3 other muckers around 4/5 pints each, he was leathered, he kept calling the barmaid "Bamber". In the end we begged him for a backflip and he duly obliged, hero back then before he left, great night

Mickey Thomas in cheers before that dreaded game with man city when we both got relegated. And toddy orlygsson gave me some of his popcorn as I sat next to him in the odeon while watching rising sun must have been the early 90s nice bloke but his missus wasn't half a noisy eater

No players but Keith Humphreys bought me and my mates several pints in some remote pub in the Peak District after the Area Semi-Final at Chesterfield in the AWS, the year we beat Bristol City. Keith was totally twatted, and not a popular man with supporters at the time. However he told us some juicy stories, much to the annoyance of son of Coates, about players and managers alike, and we all went away in no doubt that despite whatever else he was a massive Stoke fan. A surreal evening after getting pisswet at Saltergate.

Dennis Herod.
Bought plenty for and had plenty bought back in return. He was a regular in the Dick Turpin back in the day before he sadly passed away.
A famous fact for the newer supporter. Dennis was the 'keeper and there were no subs in those days....... "Herod made history on 16 February 1952, in an away match at Aston Villa. He broke his arm in a brave challenge and spent the rest of the match at right wing with Stoke defending a 2–1 lead. Not considered a threat by Villa's defence Herod was left unmarked and found himself one on one with 'keeper Con Martin and calmly slotted the ball past him." - Wiki.
Had a few around 'Castle with Inchy when he was involved with the bar scene.
Was at school with Chris Hemming and had a couple with him after he signed.
