Have to admit that it is surprisingly interesting. No stoke player has ever brought me a drink but I did have a 5 second chat with Brian Little outside the Keele Uni gym a while back. I was drinking a bottle of water at the time and I think he glanced at it.

Mark Stein, Mark Prudhoe and John Gayle bought me a drink.
Tony Pulis once bought me dinner and Dave Kevan was a mate of mine so I've bought him more than one drink and he has reciprocated.

My fat fingers are too big for my keypad on my phone s7oke. When I read it back I realised lol Dunna worry about it mate. He can't even spell Stoke properly Back on subject I've had a drink with Justin Whittle,Lee Sandford and Vinny Overson. None of them bought me a pint but I've sat and chatted to them whilst drinking. Whittle was a sound bloke and a good laugh. Wanna much for Sandford though,he thought he was summat special.

Alan Hudson, John Marsh, Terry Conroy all bought me a drink in a pub i ran in Leek in 93/95, They were attending a wedding at the catholic church next door, or so they said. Same pub got packed with pro darts players when Eric Bristow got married at the same church.

Steak and Chips by any chance Johnno? It was actually yes. 12oz Rib Eye with chips, veg and onion rings. Pulis had fish I think.

He said the football he served up was the pudding! (that bit might be a lie :-) ) It was during his first season with us. When he made that "steak and chips" comment I couldn't help but laugh.

I was introduced to Andy Wilkinson by a mutual friend, we were in the bar he owned, think it was called Zen?? Anyway, he was a really nice guy, took us into his VIP area and gave us drinks, he also sorted me tickets to SCFC V Plymouth match at the Brit... 100% a good local lad.

Huddy, Inchy, Huddy, Aaron Callaghan, Steve Bould, Tony Ford, Huddy, Eric Skeels, Neil Franklin, Huddy, Keith Humphreys (used to go the Cheltenham Gold Cup with him for many years), Mark Stein and 'Kevin' Bertschin. Not Stoke but shared a table with Rodney Marsh in the cayf at Euston Station when I was just a pup. Sure there's a few more...

Mr Beeston was, hopefully, a better man when he got up off the floor. Not my doing, I hasten to add :-)

Geoff Scott (yes, the one who posts on here) and Sammy Irvine. P*ssed as pepperpots in Maxims circa 78/79 (ish) then again outside the Dancing Octopus chippy. Dazzling urban sophistication at it's best ;-)

Steino bought me a drink in Gio's up Castle but only cause I was bitching about the little black bloke who kept pushing in!
Suspect it was his idea of "now shut the fuck up".
Worked mind.

Gods, come on - surely you can remember us trundling out to the Sheet Anchor at Whitmore on my Honda Moped and being served two pints of Lager and a packet of crisps by Geoff Hurst? And also what about the famous lecture that Steve B gave to Steve Bould at the Sneyd Arms at Keele after his mediocre display in some away match in the East Midlands? (Following which he seemed to improve in the next few matches!)
Etched in the memory for ever!

As a Lad I had many a Shandy off Neil Franklin when he had the Bell & Bear in Shelton, as he was my Godfather. Most home matches I use to meet Stan Mathews, prior to the game, inside the club outside the main stand at the Victoria, he would always have an orange juice and a complimentary ticket for the Boothern End waiting for me.
We use to live in Clarke St, Shelton next door to Harry Oscroft and every Friday (concert night) our two families would go to the WMC in Richmond Terrace.
More recently Harry Burrows used to run my local The Rising Sun, Scholar Green. Had many good times in his company. What a fine gentleman he is.
