He has looked pretty poor but I don't want him dropped just yet. One goal soon could calm him down and settle him in. Reckon We should start with him and Bojan next game -------Sidwell-------Nzonzi----- Moses ------- Bojan ------- Arnie ------------Diouf------------- Our key to good play last season was a lot of one two play especially to make room for crosses so we need to bring that back If we start like that then we will be torn a new arse hole against Citeh.

He needs to settle in, and then i feel he can improve his form. I wouldn't mind seeing Crouch start in place of him for a game or so, give him some to time calm himself.

I hope he proves me wrong = the greatest get out clause on this board. Why is it a get out clause exactly? If Diouf catches fire and scores loads of goals then I and plenty of others will be wrong about him. So what?

How's about actually getting fully behind the player till he proves you/us wrong? Or is 2 games (games where the whole team played poorly) enough to judge a player on now?

Walters, Adam and Huth weren't in the team when we were in great form at the end of last season, so how will bringing them back help? I know but they have been instrumental in our side over the last few seasons. We looked far better when crouch and Adam came on today. [/quote All three who featured in that pile of garbage game against Norwich last season, and more than likely got slaughtered on here probably by the same people who now thinking they are messiahs. Just trust in the bloke who led us to our best ever premier finish to sort things out the same way he did last season and shoved an awful lot of peoples words down their throats.

I use it all the time when I have a meltdown. It's an oft-used phrase, but I'm just not understanding why it's a "get out clause". I think most people use it to clarify, for the benefit of fuckwits, that they don't actually want the player they're slagging off to fail. That should go without saying, but on here...

He has been very poor both games, it would be unreasonable to say otherwise. Hughes in his day was a great striker and has been chasing this player for a while, on that basis I am happy to reserve judgment and trust Hughes knows a hell of a lot more than I do.

I would translate it as a question i.e. Dog has he just played a couple of shit games ( so in other words we have yet to see his true quality ) or is he shit without hope of redemption? PS Sorry if I'm wrong Pwingy but that appears to be the conundrum that you are placing in front of TDog.

Isn't it just that Diouf's game is largely based on pace and playing on the shoulder of the last defender. In the last two games that has been largely been negated with teams sitting very deep. Against Man City he should have better opportunity.
Far, far too early to judge him now.

It's fair to say that so far Diouf hasn't looked great. He has pace and strength yes, but on the evidence of the first two games his touch and control are poor. Of course this may improve as the season progresses, but how long will that take and how long will MH's patience last before he turns back to Crouch?
Saying all that it's also wrong to single out Diouf when so far the whole team has been very poor.

It is embarrassing that people on this board are judging Diouf after his 2nd competitive start for us!! Give him and his team mates a chance to settle in, gel and get to know each other... It's not rocket science.

I think he's shit in general. First touch is abysmal, can't hold on to the ball, doesn't know where he should be on the pitch...they're the tell-tale signs of a player who is crap not just one who is having a bad game. The one actual "get out clause" I will add is that I think he may be at least some use in a 4-4-2 or in the Walters-role in a TP-style 4-4-1-1. He's got a bit of pace, works hard, and his finishing ability can't be that bad if he scored 1 in 2 in the Bundesliga (in a 4-4-2 apparently). Having said that, I can't see him adding anything more than we would have had from Cameron Jerome, and there's no way that Hughes will change the system to accommodate him- seeing as he'd have to dump about 6 other players to go 4-4-2.

What exactly did Crouch do that was so good? He was as slow as a snail and weak as a baby.
He looks more involved coz we lumped the ball up to him but he was still crap.
Diouf hasn't looked great in his 2 starts but he's no worse than Crouch and Wingie and Arnie, not to mention Whelan and Sidwell, were much worse than him today.

Give him time, nothing is sticking to him at the moment, but the same could be said for the rest of team.

I'd say he's very frustrating but there is loads of talent their. He's one that certainly needs managing. Saying that I'd rather not imagine, i'd reflect on some of his performances in the second half of last season where at times he was fucking dynamite. Still let's dwell on the negatives - it's what we're used to. Some mind boggling stuff on this board today.
