For someone who doesn't "Enjoy" slating Stoke players, you do it an awful lot, and sometimes with real spite.
I agree with calling players on bad performances, and having an opinion is fine, of course. But you spewed some real bullshit about Diouf and he has proven you wrong, be a man, admit it.
Utter bollocks. The only current player I've really criticised consistently from our current squad is Diouf. It's not spiteful or personal- unlike your comments towards me on this thread-I just didn't think he was very good. Diouf's proved me wrong in the respect that I thought he was a terrible footballer and that he'd get nowhere near 10 goals this season. As it's turned out, he's had a mixed season- some rotten performances and some good, which is a lot better than I thought we'd get after his first few displays. I still don't think he's the long-term answer as a lone front man though. Someone to keep in the squad and bring off the bench, definitely, but I'd rather we try and find someone who can do more in general play as well as score the goals. If Villa can find a Benteke from somewhere, and Swansea can find a Bony then so can we. I didn't mean you had done it with other players, I meant you constantly criticised Diouf unfairly, in my opinion. Some of the shit you trotted out about him was personal and unwarranted.
Sorry if I got personal with you owd, I just find it fucking irritating when people don't give our players a fair go. Diouf needed time to settle into a new team, new league and new country.
I am glad you said he proved you wrong. x

Diouf works his socks off and we aren't playing to his strengths at the moment. Bojan will add the missing dimension with slide rule quick passes for MD to run onto. More to come from him next season. Chuffed he bagged one today. Shame Arnie didn't.

Just imagine Diouf and Bojan playing a whole season together, complemented with in-form Arnie and N'Zonzi.... As Annie Lennox sang: Sweet dreams are made of this

I thought overall he was quite poor again today but his work rate was (as always) excellent. On the ball he always looks lost. I don't know what game you were watching. He was excellent. Easy to say when we've won 3-0 but if the result like was Swansea people's opinions would change trust me. I lost count of the times he lost the ball and when he got it he didn't know where go. Like I said excellent work rate though and he scores even when he plays poor. Read Pejic's column in the sentinel today, sums Mame up perfectly.

I'm glad to see some on here are big enough to change their views on Diouf in recognition of his goal scoring this season, but mystified to see comments saying he is "poor".
Surely his record speaks for itself; on a par (10) with Ings, Bony, Erikson, Sakho and only a couple of goals less than players the media salivate about and have cost 8 figure fees.
He does have weaknesses in his game but he has strengths including getting into the right position to score and giving defenders a very difficult time.

that was his best team and all around performance. He is contributing much more and knows where the back of the net is. Good stuff Mame But see that is the thing, he has always worked hard and run his socks off and he has done that since day one. Too many on here slagged him off earlier in the season when he was being shifted all over the park, he is a center forward, not the Marc Wilson of the front three.

Most underated player we've got True,he was involved in every goal yesterday, harassing or creating. His measured pin point cross to Crouch's head made it relatively easy for the big man.

He's scored 1 in 3 which is highly respectable and is likely the best return for a Stoke player we have seen in the prem (not sure how many Ric played in the season he netted 11) Now factor in the goals that he creates, re-watch the highlights from that Spurs game and you'll see he was directly involved in all 3 goals because he's that much of a fucking nuisance. He's almost always in the right place at the right time Mame and that's not luck!
He's a very good player, and he should be starting next season.
Personally I think with him and Crouch we are looking pretty good, I'd like Hughes to unearth another cheap young striker with a little potential as our backup-backup and then I'll be happy!

How unfair is this to judge him from 2 fucking games? Give him a run of games before we can make a judgment on him, he has proved he is a goalscorer at hannover. Damn I love me.

Thought his touch wasn't good enough at first, but he's very much improved that, and his bad luck (of which he had a lot) seems to have subsided. Looks a dead cert for 15 goals next season, and probably a move to a bigger team the season after

He works his ass off and gets himself into good spots for scoring. His touch does let him down from time to time -- if it didn't he would probably be playing at a Champions League club given his ability to find little pockets and pounce on mistakes.

You said a run of games, not 12 months nearly! I said he has proven himself as a goalscorer, I stuck by him every game for Stoke, even when people were taking the piss making pictures of plane tickets back to Germany. People honestly expected him to come in banging in 3 goals every game.
