On a side note, football wise we're looking as good as man utd. Their passing, pace and movement is as good as ours.

I love the way players are discarded as rubbish after minutes into a new season. Football supporters are notoriously fickle, some of ours are sadly thick as pig shit. It's the same old crew though, the ones who are desperate to see us fail so their messiah might come back, despite him being SACKED from his last two jobs.

One thing when bojan gets the ball anywhere in the opposition half is you can tell they are scared of what he can do. He draws about 4 players towards him and they keep backing away as they know he can skip past them.
Clever players around him should be able to take advantage of that space.

He has looked pretty poor but I don't want him dropped just yet. One goal soon could calm him down and settle him in.
Reckon We should start with him and Bojan next game
-------Sidwell-------Nzonzi-----
Moses ------- Bojan ------- Arnie
------------Diouf-------------
Our key to good play last season was a lot of one two play especially to make room for crosses so we need to bring that back

I will tell you why Diouf has not had an inspiring start. He is primarily two things:
1) A big, fast centre-forward who runs the channels and puts defences on the back foot;
2) A big target man who gets on the end of long balls and crosses, winning every header.
He will never shine in a funeral paced tippy tappy festival of halfway-line football because that's the exact opposite of the style of play that he's designed for. The reason that Crouch looks better when he plays is that when he comes on, we consciously go more direct, a whole style of play that is more suited to our entire team. When Diouf starts, we need to keep the mixture of direct, counter-attacking football combined with possession when necessary that saw us play so well at the end of last season. We need the likes of Odemwingie and Arnautovic looking to get beyond him when the ball comes from the back, rather than standing static waiting for the ball to come backwards. Why some people can't see this and are crying over it, I don't know.
We really are talking about the absolute basics here.

Regardless of the service [which has been shocking in both games], he didn't even look like a footballer today if truth be told. His touch and movement were lower than second-rate.
But it's the first two games and we need to give him time. If he hasn't shown any promise in six months, then we should be asking questions.

Diouf was horrendous today. I'm really surprised at how bad he has looked in these two games. I can't believe he has a good goalscoring record in Germany and has scored goals in the Europa league. He must surely get better. If we'd had a good striker in these first two games we'd have at least 4 points.
Bojan looks nowhere near premier league standard either. Hopefully both players can improve drastically but I would give them both a 'rest' for now so we can get some points on the board.

I know diouf looks a bit rough ,we arnt Chelsea who can spend 45 million on Costa I'm sure he will prove himself the new players will come good in the end we couldn't keep playing the old guard the team as at to move on

Agree with the one about N'zonzi. If anyone's lacklustre, he is. Does not do enough. Give me Charlie any day of the week.

Yet again people expecting far too much far too soon, it's completely unfair to judge the guy on 2 games where the opposition has just sat back in their own half trying to hit us on the break, he's had barely any service if any at all
Why single Diouf out at all? Has any one player stood out as outstanding these first two games? NO
Just like Arnie last season, you'll call him shit now and lick his arse when he stands banging them in

He started the game brightly and could have been through with only the keeper to beat, but the ref gave a free kick against him which I certainly think was wrong! He looks a bit rough and his touches don't look good so far, but he must be given more time yet!

Try looking at ones that play like they've not only settled but play with an annoying laid back attitude Just like Arnie last season, you'll call him shit now and lick his arse when he stands banging them in

Far too early to judge the guy. He had hardly any service at all so it's unfair to give him too much flack.
One thing I would say though, he shouldn't play out wide. When Crouch come on and he got pushed out, it was clear as day he isn't suited out on the wing. He needs to play as a striker. We won't know how good he will be until our wingers and no10 actually give him something to work with.

I can't understand the obsession with people saying paying big fees for a striker automatically means you get goals, not at all. Look at the money spent on strikers this summer Pelle £8m- yet to score and looked poor so far. Ideye £10m- Manager doesn't even rate him and made only 1 sub appearance and can't get in the team over Anichebe Rivière £6m- Started both games, hasn't scored and looked poor. All of the above are lone strikers playing in a similar system to what we play, so this shows that playing a lone striker role in the PL is hard and takes time to learn the role and start scoring goals in it. Also paying money for strikers doesn't guarantee goals at all, so just because Diouf was free doesn't mean he won't get any goals at all. Give Diouf time to adapt to the system and league, then judge him!

Rather walters than diouf Totally agree mate. And Adam for Sidwell And huth for Wilson And Cameron for Bardsley. Sounds like an old familiar line up but it worked. Too many changes too quickly has unbalanced the team.

Dwight Yorke just said of Rooney and RVP that he's not concerned about their play as you can't as a striker expect to do well if you don't get good service.
Diouf on the other hand is expected to be in double figures by now!

I saw him play in quite a few games for Hannover at the start of last season and he looked good but he had a lot of support down the wings and a hell of a lot more time on the ball than he's going to get in the Prem. He just doesn't look right at the minute same as Arnie. I thought Bojan did well today and I'd definitely play him centrally from now on.

So far he's done nothing the likes of Walters etc can't do. Seems scared to shoot, the chance when he could've headed a shot in but instead tried to head it across goal for Crouch?! Baffled me that did. Unless it was a shot!

Baffled me that did. Unless it was a shot! If Diouf was in the position that Crouch was when Bojan played him through in that move, I'm pretty sure Diouf would've at least got a shot off, whereas Crouchy was slow to getting on the ball and did nothing with a good chance in the end.
