Having been at the Brit for the villa match and seeing hull match at the pub, here is a perspective: MAIN STRIKER ATTRIBUTES 1. Scores goals - no chance 2. Creates chances - no chance 3. Holds the ball up - no chance 4. Bullies the opposition - no chance 5. Aeriel ability - no chance 5. Accurate marksmanship - no chance 6. Skillfull in possession - no chance Sorry Mame, you have one more go against Leicester, if you can't make it, then you're benched. Talk about Walters Mark II. The number of times you miscontrolled the ball trying to keep it in play was exasperating and that shite header that drifted wide when you had the whole goal to aim at - embarrassing mate. Please buy Loic Remy - his release clause is 8m FFS 1) pretty sure you're not mark Hughes so you don't decide as and when players are benched 2) remy's release clause of 8 mill is specifically only for teams that are in the champs league Apart from that, cracking post.come again soon won't you? No problem Mick, just as well goal line technology gave Ryan's goal eh?

He doesn't look great at the moment, but the early balls forward , which he would surely thrive on, are non-existent. We play the ball wide all the time when we really haven't got that sort of player. I find the tactics a bit strange.

If a world class player like Suarez lets his contract wind down, he's then available on a free. If we signed him on a free, would you be moaning that we should have spent £14m on Rhodes because spending money would guarantee you a better quality of player? How many players at the peak of their game are allowed to run down their contracts and move on free's ? Lewandowski for one.

How many players at the peak of their game are allowed to run down their contracts and move on free's ? Ross McCormack and Shane Long have moved recently for a sum total of £23m - that's the reality of football and the value placed on goalscorers these days (agree with it or not) What do you mean 'allowed to'? They can't force someone to sign a contract and he wanted to leave? Loads of top players let their contract run down.

A high fee usually means a player has a proven track record* *lesson number 132 for thick fuckers on this website so presumably sorro was shit for us for years as well then? And naismith has been shit for everton for the last year as well has he? #lesson number 133 for the patronising fuckers who don't realise how football transfers work [/ The point I am making is that people are expecting a hell of a lot, not just from a player who we paid nothing for but from a team that who's manager has spent less than £5m since he came in and is undoubtedly also limited in terms of salary that he can pay. Most free agents get themselves a nice signing on fee when they still have someone willing to give them a contract but it is relative in terms of total outlay. I think Mark Hughes has done wonders with this team and I'm sure he will continue to do so but let's look at the big picture and recognise that expectations need managing and that pinning all our hopes on Diouf to be our goal scoring panacea is plainly daft.

He seems the sort of striker who needs balls in behind the defence so he can spin of the shoulder of the defender. I suppose time will tell we've not really been in the position yet where we've had any opportunity to hit teams on the counter attack and I think he'll be very useful at that point.

My point is Ryan's goal helps cover the overall disappointment that we and Diouf were poor. and you just said it yourself.....WE were poor! So why the need for a thread specifically about Diouf? Just lazy scapegoating at it's worst from most of the same people that were jizzing themselves when we signed him.we started last season slowly and people understood why.same this season but the difference now is that some are becoming exactly the same superior, delusional fans who insist on dicking teams week in week out and don't live in the real world that we used to slate other teams fans for being!! We finished 9th ONCE! We're a team that will finish around mid table again,no worse and no better.it's less to do with the players being shocking, awful or whatever over the top phraseology people want to use and far more to do with fans getting above themselves with little justification for doing so and lashing out when THEY are proved wrong

After 3 sightings of Diouf my initial reaction is that "he's no Ricardo Fuller" and ultimately that's what we need/needed.
He desperately needs a goal and to me, he's trying to hard at the moment.
