Very unlucky to be substituted. I suspect Hughes just doesn't think a lot for him and is only playing him because Crouch isn't currently fit.
I think he's really looked the part lately. A forward line with him, Bojan, Arnie and Moses is a glorious prospect.

Once again, as with last week, a bizarre substitution.
We need to start giving him 90 mins.
This is from someone who is not Diouf's biggest fan.

He is a Premier League player, our best striker and was one great save away from scoring in 4 consecutive games. His movement needs working in the box, and he missed a real chance to get another but he doesn't need to be so direct all the time. He is definitely a goal scorer but he needs to see what his teammates are doing off the ball to set him up and know Arnie is going to turn that man with his backheel turn move he always does to send it far post.

Diouf has scored 9 from 48 apparently. Adam is on 5 from 48. I won't argue Diouf is prolific, but he's a long way from the shit spouted by some on here.

He was superb today ....closing down defenders constant running into space but the usual few won't see it due to their Crouch obsession
Hughes only blemish mark was his substitution and it played into Sunderlands hands

Don't think Diouf's goalscoring chance in the second half was his worst miss, but his pass to Ireland in the first half! Not sure I would have taken him off today, but we certainly looked more lively up front with Crouchy!

Sunderland handled him with ease compared to Diouf and it's frustrating that Hughes resorts to it.

I would love for him to do well but I just can't get my head around why the fuck when the ball goes across the six yard box he is hardly ever in the right place.

Diouf has done well and is improving each week. His first touch now looks much better. He is very good in the air, lightening quick and has a knack of scoring goals (Like last week). Next season if given more of a run up top could see 15+ goals.

Not sure I would have taken him off today, but we certainly looked more lively up front with Crouchy! I think the attempted pass to Ireland is an example of what's stopping Diouf from scoring more: his selflessness. If he had the instincts of someone like Hernandez say, hovering around the box and attacking the six yard line,he'd have scored several today. But he's always chasing lost causes.pressuring opponents and making unselfish runs.Fancied him to charge down a 'keeper's clearance for a goal today too.

They were much more comfortable when he went off and saw the game out easily for their point. Unless he was injured, he should have stayed on the pitch. If he had, I'm convinced we'd have got the winner.

He was superb today ....closing down defenders constant running into space but the usual few won't see it due to their Crouch obsession Hughes only blemish mark was his substitution and it played into Sunderlands hands Spot on. His presence was giving Coates and O'Shea the shits and no coincidence they sliced nearly every clearance that came their way. Crouch came on, they pushed up 10 yards and came back into the game.
