I've decided. Diouf's ace. Hey Oz, are you in Kansas? No. But I want to go there.

I feel there has been a lack of appreciation for Diouf on two occasions he has scored great reactions and on those occasions the fans went mad for the player providing the goal. I think we need to show Diouf some love he is a player who is in the right place at the right time.

We really don't play to his strengths and our pattern of play is normally labored in midfield. Read another thread where it said we have no midfielders who pass to the side of him going forward which is so correct. he has pace to burn and very realey gets the opportunity to use it - a waste. Midfield players need to be looking to take a chance on him and his pace and not be scared of loosing possession. Perhaps Muiesta playing next to Nzonz might improve that? Nzonz very raley plays that killer ball which he needs encouraged to do.

As others have said, yesterday he ran himself ragged and made some great runs, but never really got any service. Despite this he still scored. No complaints from me.

It's the midfield, not Diouf that's the problem.

Fookin love the bloke. Runs his bollocks off every time he steps out onto the pitch. He does look for the intelligent runs but unfortunately doesn't get the service when he makes them- obviously next season with Bojan back I can see him getting some better service. Just the fact he drilled that one in yesterday to stuff that fat prick Koeman puts him in my good books!

Been frustrating on many occasions this season but on the whole he's made an excellent contribution for his first season.
I think we can improve next season (Austin) but Diouf's versatility will continue to make him a key part of our squad.
A great signing.

People on here have been asking for us to sign Ings, but they have the same anount of goals and i'm sure diouf will get a couple more than him by the end of the season! I don't think a striker is priotiry for summer, but may be a younger striker who's happy on the bench incase Crouchie's op doesn't go well.

To be fair to Diouf (and to the team as a whole) just as Diouf got used to the Prem and got his injuries and the ACON out of the way, Bojan got injured and has been out ever since. So Diouf's improvement in form has co-incided with the loss of our best and most incisive passer. I think the loss of Wingie for virtually all the season has also hampered him. Wingie is the only player with the pace to match that of Diouf. Moses has pace but his style is far less direct than that of Wingie or Diouf. Had we been able to field the front 4 shown below for most of the season (with Arnie covering the two wide positions), I guarantee that Diouf would have scored more - and I reckon the other three would have contributed to a superb attacking unit.
..............Diouf................
Moses.........Bojan..........Wingie
That front 4 starting games with Arnie, Walters, Crouch and Ireland as cover would have scared many defences and contributed to the team scoring 50% more goals than it has done.

I don't think he got enough time with Bojan, with Bojan's vision and Diouf's runs I think we'll be scoring for fun!

Someone on the phone in got it spot on. When Diouf was on we were passing it around and playing to feet. Then when Crouchy came on we started lifting balls into the channel for him to run onto. Bizarre.

I'm baffled to be honest.

He was making some fantastic runs yesterday, but nobody could pick him out.
We need another quality central midfielder to play alongside Zonz.
Yesterday really highlighted the limitations of Glen.

I'm baffled to be honest. You'd hope so wouldn't you. The worst yesterday was Adam. There was no one between him their back line and Diouf who had taken off between their centre halves, he just had to thread it and Diouf was in. I don't know if he didn't see it (but he was facing forward and nothing was obstructing the view) or he just didn't fancy making it but whatever it was it was an absolute disgrace that he passed it backwards. I'm all for possession football but that took the piss because it's from a player you expect to make the pass.

I don't understand why when you've got one of the fastest player in the league up front you don't put the ball into the channels for him to chase. Also with a target man, you use him as a target.....to play directly to him especially when a tortoise is quicker. To do the complete opposite was baffling. We're using Diouf massively wrong and have been all season (I've been moaning about it all season), he could get us 15 league goals a season easily if played up front and if we actually play through balls and balls into the channel to him.

To coin a phrase, I thought he worked 'ard yesterday... but seriously, I think he started the game very lively but tired towards the end - but he always seems to be putting himself in the right places more often that not when playing up top, and that paid off to get another opportunistic goal.

If he scores more than 5 goals I'll be absolutely amazed, I can see now why he failed in the Prem last time around. This guy knows his stuff.
