Well there IS a fair argument to be had about the relative values of the two players since the higher valued of the two has never played at Premier League level. It could easily be argued that, at this moment, Jerome is worth more. The price being paid for players that are 'untried' at this level is nothing short of MENTAL. Given what he's achieved to date, I'd say 2 - 3 million is about right for Jerome and I'd place about the same figure on an untried, though promising, striker from the league below. Jerome has proved he can't cut it at this level though.

Was he really given a fair crack of the whip?

"The Potters would like to thank Cameron for his efforts since joining the Club from Birmingham in July 2011 and wish him every success for the future."
The World's shortest work reference.

I said this guy had all the makings of an 'English Drogba' on here when he first signed. Jesus Christ I was wrong. Ha ha. To be fair, I had him down as a poor man's KJ !
So don't know who was more wrong. There isn't a player of that description in existence!

He usually disappointed when he started, but he was effective as an impact sub, he turned a few games in our favour and saved me a few miserable weekends so it's a thanks and good luck from me.

Great signing for £1.5m, but a good deal for us as well, as he's off the wage bill.
I always thought that TP should have used Jones and Jerome as a Mama/Fuller type combo. The only time I ever saw him do it was against Palace in the cup replay and we won 4-1. Obviously, TP being TP, he never tried it again!

Good luck to the lad. Could've easily stuck around to pick up the dollar.
As many others have done.

Good luck to him. Signed to replace Ric, and had the pace and power but not the skill.
If Shea and Shotton are also close to the exit doors then that must be some wages we are saving.

Recouping our whole transfer fee expenditure on Cameron Jerome. (Shocked emoticon needed but haven't got a clue how to find from the iPhone). Did we?
Thought we did TP's usual 'name your price' routine and got stung for £4.5 - 5.0 m?
Hold that emoticon...
If you are correct that is an astounding amount of wasted money, good god he wasted a fuckin fortune in the last 2/3 seasons.

I can't be sure Carps & stand to be corrected, but that kind of rings a bell?
Your summary of his financial acumen however, is 100% accurate. And "wasted" the operative word.
For all 'his' achievements, they came at a price.
And that, I suspect, is also why he is no longer @ Palarse.
Parish could see that coming.

Fucking fantastic goal! Block 26 went mental!! The little un didn't see it properly as it was a rocket and he was wondering what the hell was going on!! Did very well as an impact sub, pace and power always troubling tired defences, but he was an instinct player, never a thinking player. All the best Cam and thanks for the memories...

That a Southampton game was unique in that we had THREE target men up front, Crouchy, Kenwyne and Jerome. Desperate measures, but came off spectacularly, a goal that was up there with crouchy's vs citeh and Rik's specials. Oh yeah and for the phantom death of Jack that got Fonz off.

I thought his goals per minutes played was as good if not better than anybody we've got. He is an 'impact player' and did okay.

I always preferred him to Walters . Much quicker and sharper but still lacking in many areas of his game. Good luck to him none the less...

Be interesting to see who comes out on top. I think you'll find that it was actually done by someone on here before and I think Jerome did come out on top in terms of goals scored for the amount of time he spent on the pitch....not absolutely certain though.

I think Jerome will do very well in the championship and Norwich have a strong chance of going up.
Pretty sure we got a 1m loan fee from Palace last year so in total we've received 2.5m back for him which isn't too bad on a 4m outlay, especially as he scored some important goals for us.
That said I think he's a steal for 1.5m for Norwich. Look at the price half decent strikers go for in the championship now, yu can't buy league 1 goal scores for that. Great business for Norwich and acceptable for us.
Wish Jerome all the best, he's someone whos always wanted to play regular football and isn't affraid to drop down a league for it. Fair play to the lad.

fantastic goal. This goal will be the legacy he leaves at stoke. I believe he can do fantastically well at Norwich and make a much bigger impact than van wolfswinkel
