No shotton fan myself but TP played him everywhere often out of postion and trying to do the job he couldn't But it has resulted in the versatile Shotts we have today. Remember Kiev away? WBA away?

Unless it's for around £4m I would keep Shotts...he's a classic utility player. ;D

Unbelievable Jeff! Shotton will never even make the bench and is in the last year of his contract! Well in that case the club should get a new one on the table. I think we are ok here with Bardsley and Geoff

Shots has got until end of next season on his current deal. He could sit and take the cash like some lazy bastards but wants and needs to play. I hope he does well at Derby and makes some of the tossers on here eat their words . Never been given a proper chance at Stoke, pissed him about all over the place . Would have been interesting to see how shawcross would have done played at right back, right wing, left back , striker etc Good luck Shots

Unlucky to lose his place due to suspension at right back .and never let us down the vitriol is pathetic candidly nothing Bardsley has done suggests he is an upgrade on Shotton. Let alone Cameron

I'm not quite sure why Hughes was so eager to loan him out to Wigan last season without giving him a few chances in the first team to prove his worth. Maybe he just had a 'mare in a few pre-season and training games?

Unfairly maligned because he wasn't Jermaine Pennant and because he didn't act like he was every randomer's best mate in Hanley. Not the greatest player, but better than some would make out and deserving of a little more respect.

Still not impressed with Bardsley... I'd give Shotton another run if he or Cameron cant shore it up tbh then look for a move in Jan. We will be fine without him but its better move for Ryan as hughes obviously never rated him. Although its 2 games in Bardsley still has time to turn it around... but I still don't see the "upgrade" that hype about a "natural" that was spued on here during the pre-season. I think Bardsley is a better marker and the most physical RB we have but I think we miss out in counter attacks and attacking position we had last season with geoff in at RB. We have even slower distribution from the back and a uninterested midfield jogging about.

You could hope he does a Palacios and fails his medical I suppose!

Gord luck Ryan. Glad you've got a move to a proper club with a bit of history behind them. It's a fantastic move for him mate Tbh it's one he could probably only dream about on leaving the premiership A club on a par with Stoke both in terms of size and support

They looked impressive yesterday - admittedly it was against the Fulham kindergarten!

The best right back we have? Based on his performances there in TP's last season, I'd say so.
We need better but been hard done by at right back.
Fucking awful winger though but we all know that barring one person. And that's what killed him here.

To be honest it isn't the fee we get for him which is the critical thing, it is the freeing up of his wages from our wage bill - every little helps where FFP is concerned.

I think he's had his luck in life by sitting back for years earning good money and not playing, or as you put it " wants to play", exactly how many games as he played let's say over the last three seasons.

If he does go - and it would be a good move for him on the face of it - I wish the lad nothing but success. Vastly underated by many here and down right maligned by some. Great pity it hasnt gone to plan here. I find it a little sad that we are turning into one of those clubs that just has a steady turn around of overseas players who stay for a couple of years and then move on.
