I would happily take Redmond in preference to Assaidi, I think he will become a very good player.

Amazing how so many have written off Redmond following a mediocre showing at the weekend in a poor Naaaaaaarch team - first game back, maybe not there mentally with all the transfer talk, but no, the lad is rubbish and we should not sign him. He has consistently impressed from his early days at Brum, he is young, pacey, direct, English (and fairly local), already experienced at the top level - I struggle to find reasons not to sign him at £5m. He really is an average player. He was awful last year as well. He's got pace but little else in his locker, regularly makes the wrong decision, his shooting and goal record is woeful and his assist column is no better. The only thing he has is being young and English, apart from that he's a headless chicken. The truth is players like that generally stay like that, your typical Walcott and Lennon but with even less about him.

Just watching the build up to the madrid game. It reminded me of when Spurs tried to sell Bale to Birmingham when he was a similar age to Redmond because he was too lightweight and didn't produce the good often enough. I'm not saying Redmond will ever hit those heights but there is always time to improve your game at that age.

I always look back to Spurs and Bale's abysmal performance at the Brit in our first season in the Prem. When Bale was made to look an amateur by Tom Soares I bet no one in the crowd that night expected Bale to be playing for Real Madrid and Soares to be playing for Bury 6 years later!

Redmond is a class act and will fit very well with our style of play. He is more aggressive going forward than Assaidi. Get Redmond!!

£4.5 million and Brek Shea on loan for a season. Everyone's a winner. They are more likely to go for a flat 4M.

Redmond is a logical buy IMO. Realistically Arnie, Bojan and Diouf all need to be on the pitch occupying our forward line. Bringing in a top quality winger like Yarmalenko will cause quite a few selection headaches. You can't leave your record signing on the bench which will mean pissing off one of the above 3 (probably Arnie). Redmond on the other hand will be satisfied with a few appearances here and there and with Odemwingie coming towards the end of his career he could be a useful long term option over the coming seasons. Redmond isn't a great player but can make an impact off the bench and will only improve. Smart, safe buy IMO. And even better Walters would be on his way

That said there is a good argument for saying that if we are going for Redmond purely for his pace off the bench would we not be better saving our pennies and utilising Jerome who has proven on countless occasions under Pulis that he can change games at this level.

I have not read all in the thread today but in the Metro in London today it said Stoke had increased the offer to £5M.
Apologies if old news.

Ultimatum time He agrees to sign Or we move on Club not wanting to drag things out We are playing hardball these days and do not want deadline drama anymore

Strange if so and he doesn't want to come. Maybe Jack has been in his ear to slightly dissuade him due to lack of first team opportunities for himself.

I'm not quite sure some people know how transfer dealings with under contract players work.
