Some terrible pop pap cropping up here... Sly Fox, please. It'll be Go West and Charles & Eddie next.... Save us.

"Hold your arms out, rigid like a juggernaut..."
Has there ever been a better line in any song? I think not.

Go to YouTube, search "I hate Nerys Hughes". Then CUT the URL from the browser (the...http://www....... bit). Go back onto the Oatcake, click reply and PASTE the URL into the text box. Then post your comments. Voila, web 2.0 in action.

I remember buying a pair of Don Johnson inspired white trousers for a date to impress a bird, and some blokes wolf whistled me as I crossed the road. The date did not go well and the trousers were binned on the same day. Just superb.

Here's one for you Wizard! Did Thomas Dolby invent dub-step 30 years ago? Hard to argue that he didn't, if you listen to this. Also features Sally James all dolled up and ready for a night out with Harry in his white trousers.

Never really got the Goth thing, but always liked Nick Cave and all his incarnations. Mid eighties tribute to Elvis, massive. Superb, from The Firstborn is Dead. An album I actually bought in Norway. Also features this killer tune, written by one of my all time heroes Johnny Cash. There's a lot of mythology around this song, as ever with Johnny Cash...but Nick Cave's version is the best though...by a long, long way. Song builds to deliver Cash's deadly stone cold last last stanza. Just brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant.

And before CheeeseFreex starts complaining about Goth appearing on the thread, this is German Darkwave - from the legendary 4AD label.
