ryan was silly to put in a "tackle" like that when he was on a yellow, hes had a great season but he probably cost us at least a point yesterday.i think we all agree both his tackles were yellow cards.

the 2nd yellow was a bit harsh , a lot of refs would have let that one go as a final warning

I think it was a bit rash but his sending off definitely didn't cost us anything. I thought we actually played better with 10 men than we did with 11. What cost us 3 points yesterday was the same thing we've struggled with all season, shit finishing.

First yellow no arguement, second soft and delayed. If ref thought it a yellow why did he not whistle immediately it happened. Stinks for me particularly when Rose only got a yellow.

I think that Pieters kept the defence in good order. We did well 10 v 11 and arguably it should have been 10 v 10 We had chances to get a point, but the final touch / clinical finishing is still missing. At least we do have cover for the game next weekend

Marriner is one of those refs that attract red cards. Reason... he starts off super lenient and lets everything go and then dishes out cards like confetti after a certain period in the game.
Very dangerous strategy.

Second one was never a yellow. Eyes on the ball, opposition got their juts before him, tries to pull out and brushes his boot on Roses' shin. I don't understand how people view it as a definite yellow?

It wasn't a malicious lunge or anything like, just a ill timed tackle, the kind of challenge that's even gone unpunished in the past.....All it needed is a bit of common sense, and final word in Shawcross's ear, it was made worse by Rose rolling around like he had an Aaron Ramsey.......but bit like the rest of the spurs team were doing all afternoon!!! Common sense, that's all it needed!!!

There's no doubt they were fouls. However, the tackle was not worthy of a straight yellow card without a warning.
Had Ryan continually made careless tackles, after his first yellow card, leading up to the tackle then we would agree. However, this was his first foul after being given a card so therefore he deserved a warning before being issued with a card, no?

Well that's wrong. You get a verbal warning before being issued with a yellow card when little silly tackles like that go in. Whether it's your first or second yellow card.

If it was the other team we wouldn't be howling it was a 2nd yellow.
Marriner just forgot he'd been booked. No ref takes that long to find his red card if he's about to send someone off.

Perhaps you'd find more sympathy for your attempt to be even handed Ray if this wasn't the same referee who... - Didn't even book Adebayor for his elbow in the face on Ryan Shawcross.
- Decided to show he CAN be a lenient referee when he chose not to send off Gary Neville for two vicious, scything lunges on Matthew Etherington three years ago.
- Hadn't sent off the wrong player in a game a few weeks ago.
The man is an utter cretin, with no moral courage whatsoever and that won't have changed when the dust has finally settled,

Can't comment on the first as didn't realise he'd been booked until the lad said behind he'll be off now.
As for the second never in a million years, Ryan had eyes on the ball all the way, the horrid little bsatard knew exactly what he was doing and can only say what goes around comes around and I'll find it hilarious whatever it is.

smudge,he didnt see adebayor assault ryan,he did however see ryan put in a reckless challenge when he was on a yellow card.as for the other incidents you dragged up,there isnt a ref in the world of football who could stand up to so much scrutiny.some people find it harder than others to take off their blinkers
