No different to us with the Falklands.
Still, we'll involve ourselves and this could get nasty very quickly.

The situation is so screwed at the moment and its a pity that UK, Europe and USA are too busy entertaining Putin/Lavrov with the war of words instead of actually helping the people they claim to care so much about. It's disgusting. Our media are also doing a fantastic job too of helping the politicians put their view across.
There is so much that 'the west' should be doing if it genuinely did care as much as it is making out, and so far it is guilty of making so many fundamental and disgraceful mistakes. We're not as nice and fluffy as people think, and neither are the people running the show in Kiev. The whole situation on Crimea too, in the context of what has happened and what is still happening is being reported so fucking wrong it is unbelievable.
You'd have thought that the Americans as the self appoint world police would understand Russia's stance of ensuring the safety of its citizens world wide. By no means am I saying that Russia are absolute angels in this, they aren't by any means, but the provocation and rhetoric from the west is just as bad when you look at all of the factors involved.
Instead of actually helping the people who need it, the west has played big bully too and brought Ukraine to the brink of being split in to 3. It actually 'benefits' Europe/UK/USA if Ukraine does split, as they then 'win' the west and claim that it is a victory for freedom and democracy, whilst at the same time deploring Russia for taking the east through threat, fear and intimidation. Then lets just see what happens in 10 years time when the west erupts again because it failed to actually do anything useful at all.
Nobody in Ukraine itself benefits from a split Ukraine, and nobody is benefiting at all from this chest beating from both sides, not one single bit. At the moment, trust nothing you hear - not from Putin, Kerry, Hague, EU or self appointed people in positions of power in Kiev either. All of them need to be throttled and told to just stop being massive wankers and do something useful and constructive for a change.
I said after seeing the aftermath in Maidan that the people were most definitely victims of greed, corruption and modern day geopolitics, and the latter has most definitely come to the fore in the days since then. This should not be east vs west, NATO vs Russia...this should be about getting the people of Ukraine back on their feet. Then seeing the likes of John Kerry take a photo opportunity laying a candle in Maidan sickens me and is one of the biggest insults to the victims possible

Thing is, we could be witnessing the start of a very bloody and long dare I say world war, this is not too dissimilar to when the nazis went in to Belgium. Granted we got bigger guns these days, but Putin really does come off as a psychopath.

No one is saying that all Russians want military action...... but neither did a lot of American or British want military action in Iraq. Its all very scary if you think about the implications of it all.

I hope you understand that not all people in Russia want military intervention in Ukraine. Yes....I can appreciate what you're saying. Russia is a very different country to those in the west. There isn't the same freedom or freedom of speech . It's its a shame there isn't more democracy and compassion in your government.

The EU are collectively shitting themselves over trade sanctions. They know that deep down they can't afford do them for the gas amongst other things.
I don't suppose it affects the Yanks that much?

The problem with gas supplies was always a potential minefield . They supply 30% of europes gas and it gives them huge leverage over us .

and whilst our lot in their fancy offices discuss trade sanctions, oil supplies and stock market crashes, those people in Ukraine duped in to thinking that we were here to save them still stand by waiting for anybody to do something useful.
It is actually becoming a joke now over the phrase 'deep concern' in that if people are asked to do something, they'll respond 'I'm not deeply concerned enough to do so'. Each day where nothing constructive happens, that anti EU resentment will grow and more people become sympathetic towards extremists who just think 'fuck everybody'.
Well done EU/USA...you are absolute legends
