Sunday People claim the "27-year-old Colombian hitman" is our "No.1 January target"
Hertha Berlin are willing to sell and Ramos is potentially a shrewd deal for Stoke - if a fee can be agreed

If there is anything in that, we must be willing to spend a decent amount of money - he won't come cheap

Must admit to not knowing anything about the lad.
Looks to have a decent record (I'm not going to comment on the obligatory YouTube video I've just seen as we know how they can look!)

Borussia Dortmund have been reported to be interested in him as a potential replacement for Lewandowski should he leave and Arsenal have also been linked with him.
He actually scored for Hertha in a 2-1 win at Dortmund yesterday and he's currently the joint leading scorer in the Bundesliga so I think this may be a no go for us.

His goals per game ratio isn't bad (Football Manager 2014 really is great), so again like Arnie he may be a player that we can get cheap and just needs managing appropriately.
Interesting that we are looking in Germany for abroad.

Hmmm I know nothing about the lad but for some reason I'm very excited by the prospect.
Could also be smoke and mirrors so that we get the Diouf/ Hannover camp sweating.

I've been watching a bit of German football in the past few months and this lad has stood out. But we'd need to get more good balls in the air to him, he's a demon in the air.

How tall is he? I remember us scouting Dzeko and Grafite as 'potential prospects'...at the same time that Man City, Juventus etc were scouting them. Hopefully this isn't a repeat of that and we have a shot at him. It could also be a negotiating tactic with Hannover to make them more reasonable over Diouf.

Saw highlights of the Dortmund Hertha match. I thought he was very useful. We'd have to pay up a fair bit to get him. But hard to say if he will be a sure-fire hit with us.

Adrian Ramos? Why don't we go and sign Geoff Suarez as well, or Dave Busquets?

Greetings fellow Stokies. How are you on this fine Christmas Eve, Eve, Eve? (ho ho ho). I have just received an email and a virtual mince pie from Carto, our Technical Director. He also sent me a photo of him doing his second job, Santa Claus at the Grotto in the Potteries. He looked very dashing I must say. Anyhow, he tells me we're after someone called Juande Ramos. I assume he's been on the Sherry, because he sent me a report on Adrian Ramos. The lad from Hertha Berlin. Here it is.

Sooner or later if we have pretensions to be a regular top ten team we are going to have to buy players of this quality. No use having champagne tastes if we only want to spend beer money.

What about his teammate Sami Allagui? That bloke looked very talented and was a handful for the Borussia defenders.

MailStoke's scouring of the Bundesliga for different strikers has led them to look at Adrian Ramos of Hertha Berlin.
The Colombian was the subject of a bid from West Bromwich Albion back in August, while Hull City also made an enquiry.
Both were put off by Hertha's asking price and the Germans still want up to £7million for a player who has scored 11 goals in 17 games, including four in his last three.
One familiar problem that may occur though is that of a work permit. Stoke have already been frustrated in their pursuit of USA international Juan Agudelo after the Home Office blocked the move and may struggle with Ramos, who although has 22 caps for Colombia, has not been selected since November 2011.
Borussia Dortmund, who he scored against on Saturday in a 2-1 win and Arsenal have also been linked with Ramos this season.
Mame Biram Diouf remains on Stoke's list as he stalls on a new deal with Hannover, but Ramos has a better goal record.
Stoke would ideally sell Kenwyne Jones to pave the way with the striker out of contract in the summer.
QPR manager Harry Redknapp has an interest in Peter Crouch and Tottenham's Jermain Defoe but both will take some creative budgeting with Stoke and Tottenham having to subsidise any deal.
