I'm a little uneasy about the amount of mentions the daily mail has had regarding this apparent breaking news. As far as I've seen, the mail said we were interested a few days ago, but I've seen nothing since.
I wonder if it's only just been picked up on over there, and something has got lost in translation? Doesn't take long for it spiral out of control, especially with Twitter knocking about.

As far as I can see the Mail have reported nothing new over the last few days, other than our initial interest.

He's been mentioned in connection with us in loads of places for a few weeks to be fair, but do we know how confident we are he'll get a work permit or if we have a plan b? Why shouldn't he get a work permit rob, the fee, Columbias world ranking and 22 apps for country, been playing in bundesliga since 09. Must get one surely Yes,common sense should prevail on this one........wait a minute.

It would certainly be a big signal of intent.
I just can't help thinking this is one of those that will never quite drop for us. I wouldn't get your hopes up.
If there's truth in it though then the good news is that the money is there and being made available.

I think this is why PC wants to get in early, rather than wait till five to eleven on feb 1st. Get it sorted now and get players here ready for new year.

I think there is some credibility to this rumour, after all Hughes was in Germany a few weeks back to meet someone so it's not impossible that it could have been for this. Unless Hughes was looking for a refund on Arnie?

Colombian papers reporting that it's a done deal - he has 'signed'.....
Elsewhere he's linked with Dortmund and Arsenal.

He signed for Hertha Berlin in 09 with less caps, So you would of thought it would be easier now. Who as the final say UEFA or FA. The FA, our rules are some of the strictest in Europe, if not the strictest. It'd go to an automatic appeal because he won't have played the correct number of games. And like I said if You can't win that appeal it's time to give up. Work Permits are nothing to do with the FA

There is a panel yes however it's the Govt. that decides & they have been known to go against the panels view. The criteria is flawed of course because, surely, 1 cap for Brazil is worth 20 for a smaller/average nation like say Austria (random choice).

Greetings fellow Stokies. Whilst playing a network game of FM14 with Carto last night, in between bites of cold Turkey sandwiches he told me the good news.
Done and dusted he said.
I hope he's talking about Ramos and not the 4KG Turkey he had leftover...

He looks like he could be our new Ric!!!! Not holding my breath we'll be able to sign him though, for one reason or another. Really hope I'm wrong though. Boxing Day has made a cynical Stokie even more cynical nahhh that was Arnaut...... never mind moving swiftly on. Lets not label any player with "the new Ric" title, surely a new player has a right to produce their own legacy?

Make of this what you will, it is a google translate of what the hertha berlin fans are saying (from thier forum)
ContributionPosted: 24/12/2013 19:07 Profile Send E-mail Ramos depends certainly not just because of the World Cup finals at the moment to get in there. He will next year already 28 He will not get as many opportunities yet to conclude a really fat, lucrative contract. Be it in the Bundesliga or elsewhere. Although I would find the course. The fact that he leads the league with the scoring charts he already gets now media attention abroad. When the back round is also so good for him, some will provide you with. Not only Stoke City ... Then we will certainly sell it, unless we should get into the CL. So no matter whether it really creates Preetz his contract to extend again. When anyhow only goal of driving up the transfer fee and on the part of Ramos consultant determined only containing clauses are accepted.

I agree to be honest,
Has too be involved in 75% of international fixtures in the past 2 years from the application date, he has only played 22 games since 2008.
However argument is that they have world class strikers in Martinez, Falcao, Gutierrez, & he's played in Germany for 4 years in there top domestic league with a decent scoring rate.
But then he is 27, and hasn't had a call up in 12 months, best to forget about him. Even more so when Agudelo got rejected and he has played for the national team lately, is young and one for the future.
Because of all the stuff quoted here, JSU. Of course, it may well happen, but since we've been burned pretty recently I'd assume we aren't taking it lightly? id like to think we have a chance when you look at the pros, but they obviously didn't let Agudelo in due to international matches, its hit and miss isn't nowadays with the FA.
