He's at an age and in a position where game management is a necessity in this day and age (it isn't the fifties). He's clearly very talented and still has that great talent but he will need to be managed to keep him fresh.

But as an occasional starter and more frequent game changer, we'd be hard pressed to find anyone better. The downside is a short shelf life but, providing the signing on fee isn't too high and his wage demands reflect his age, we could do a lot worse.

I think when push comes to shove he'll probably stay where he is after negotiating a better deal because of our interest!

Isn't Aaron Hunt deciding his future by the end of the month, can honestly see him signing for us, given the Arnie factor and the apparent former interest in him

The key signing will be the new striker we bring in. If we can add a few more goals to our game then it'll be worth a couple more league places.

If we keep up the performances from now until the end of the season then surely we could attract some younger talents in the summer?. Hopefully Mr Coates will have the confidence in Hughes to slip him a few quid too.

The striker has not yet announced if he will stay with Vfl or go for 2 years to Stoke City. Several times in recent weeks he has announced he will decide soon. Now the decision is imminent. Olic stressed after the Frankfurt game "I promise that I will decide this week"

I can understand a newly promoted team wanting a 34yr old striker. But a team like us, trying to move along. I don't think so ! Let's just leave him where he is !

Now i never claimed to know everything about football Sorensen, unlike you claim but oh how the mediocre accepting types love a "he used to be somebody" signing! As i said, if we were looking to sign him for our first season in the Prem, I would welcome him just for his experience. But a team that will be entering its 6th season in the Prem and with ambitions of moving up, we need better ! Much better. Now for foxy's sake I will whisper in his ear so as not to embarrass him, Odemwingie is only 32. But, one has to seriously question a team that wants to populate it's strike force with a 33 yr old Odemwingie, which he will be come the start of next season and a 35 yr old Olic, which he will be after the season starts !

Olic is still banging them in for Wolfsburg! Exactly...so why not do the same here then! Rather have too much to choose from striking wise than not enough at all, and who knows who will be still in red & white stripes come the beginning of next season.

There is often a big difference between those ages, especially for forward players in a fast league.

At the ground today according to a Teamtalk bod on Twatter. This chappie, Rob? Scott Richards ?@scottrichardss 1mIvica Oli? was at Stoke City today with partner & possibly agent. They had a meal with club officials and spent time with the physio. #SCFC Intereating if true. Where do we see Olic playing in the bright new future of Hughesball?
