I've always rated Olic. He'd be a massive upgrade on Walters but he's in his 30's now

Sounds highly unlikely. We are going to be associated with every striker until we sign one.

Odd one. Mind you, despite being an OAP, he's got 7 goals in 15 starts in the Bundeliga. Kicker

Wouldnt fit in here. Doesnt slide tackle defenders like Andy Cooke did.

Does he play on the wing and cut in? If so, he's the sort what we need. But a bit younger.
EDIT- he does on the video on The Sentinel and wears the number 11. That's enough for me. It's good to see though we're after more wingers/inside forwards. We need them.

It mentions Papy Mison Djilobodji at the end as well, a "tough tackling" cb

Last few months of contract again, scraping the barrel? I really can't see us spending more than a few million

Last few months of contract again, scraping the barrel? I really can't see us spending more than a few million Short term fix I suspect. We need goals and it looks like he plays out wide and gets goals. We have Walters attempting to do that currently and he'd be an improvement for sure. Is he worth an 18 month contract? I have no idea but he's the sort of player we need. If nothing else it's encouraging that we're looking at these types and trying to get it done early. A younger version would be nice.

Yes...A short term fix but why..? Why not invest in the long term. I thought we were heading in a new direction investing in youth as opposed to the over 30's. He may be a good player , but for how much longer. I think the Premiership would probably find him wanting. This would not be a good move in my view. Go and spend the money on a younger player.

I seriously hope that Walter's position is being looked at for strengthening but at 34 surely his legs can't be up to the pace of the PL but i don't know, hopefully we're in a stronger position team wise come February 1st. Hughes has said that he wants players that will go straight into the 1st team and doesn't want squad players, so fingers crossed

Because You can't always do it? We need a solution now. No deal should be off the table because of anything, You have to get that balance right. Even if he came in for 6 months, scored a few and then we binned him it'd be worth it. If a younger player of a similar ilk who is ready to come straight in is available then great but as a short term option this looks a good one. Short term fix I suspect. He can't be any slower than Walters and he's played for some excellent teams so he'll be technically gifted. If he can beat a man with skill and clever footballing ability then he'll be fine. His record this season is good, he's confident and what not so I don't think it'd be disastrous.

But again , judging by the press article the club wants a bloody fortune....I really don't think its worth it and the pace of the Premiership is so much quicker than what he's used to. There are hundreds of alternatives out there , we just need to find the right one.

Like I said, I just find it encouraging that we're after this sort of player.
