Play Jones, not Crouch. Ferdinand's legs have gone and any pace at all will frighten him. Nowt against Crouchie, just think this match is made for Jones.

Heavy rain and 30mph winds forecast during the game and most of the day so may make it abit of a lottery also. You mean POSTPONED?

I hope Arnie starts for this one, put him up against Evra and burn past him with pace and skill.
Hammers to win tonight too and we will take an easy draw. Even City, we can do them, already looking forward to tonight!

Got a good feeling about this game! Providing Hernandez doesn't start. He always bloody scores against us! Hopefully the ground wont be too packed with glory hunters and plastic fans and we generate a great atmosphere. It's not like we haven't got any time to down a pint or 12 before the game . Beat United, get a decent draw in the next stage, 3 points at the weekend and have a great Christmas! 2-1 Stoke. Strongest team out. Last minute worldy for wilko who came on for a sub for the last five minutes wouldn't be half bad!! GOOARN STOKEE

Interesting facts:
We have never lost a home cup tie to United and beat them on our run to the cup in '72.

Should be fielding the strongest possible team, a team that reflects the side he played with similar tactics and approach as at Old Trafford, the second half was a learning curve, and I'm sure Hughesy regrets having to take Arnie off, and the more defensive changes. I can understand the argument for Jones to feature, and would certainly bring him on second half if appropriate. It takes all sorts and all goals count, but Walsall, Tranmere and Brum aren't quite the opposition we'll face later. I wouldn't wish to break up the Walters/Ireland/Crouch/ N'Zonzi/ Arnie interplay. It's getting better, I reckon' Crouch is pivotal.
--------------Bego Cameron Shawcross Wilson Pieters --------------Whelan -----------Ireland N'Zonzi ------Walters Crouch Arnautovic
Adam, Jones, Assaidi, Palacios, Muniesa, Pennant... injuries/fitness provided.
Go on Stoke, conner wait, applying layers. Wood's Rum imminent.

Go on stoke. Come on lads we can make it. I know we can. Yday's result with Sunderland going through should give us such a boost. First of all shows that one if the big guns can be eliminated and put to the sword. Secondly we know that going through we might be drawing the Mackems and we sure can beat the shit out if them. So glory beckons once again. Lets go for it lads, come on stoke, come on you mighty mighty potters

Has hughes said anything about the keepers and who gets to play in the cup? it will probably be Sørensen, as he is a very good keeper still, and Begovic has had a niggle - and is needed fully fit in the league. I also have a feeling that Wilkinson, Palacios and maybe Jones will play tonight. So my guess is this: Sørensen Wilkinson-Shawcross-Wilson-Pieters Walters-Palacios-Nzonzi-Adam-Arnautovic Jones And then Ireland, Whelan, Crouch, Cameron on the bench to rest and/or change the game later on, along with Assaidi, Pennant etc. Maybe even Etherington gets a go in this, or Shea? Hope not!
