We have to keep the Villa game in mind when selecting the team if you ask me.
Bring sorro, wilko, Adam, Etherington/Pennant and Jones in and keep the rest strong.
I'd rather win at the weekend and lose today than the other way round.

If Gcam, huth, ryan, whelan or wilko or someone who isn't a striker or winger gets a goal vs united at home.. I'm going to go mental... I have a good feeling about Weds for our current side. Seriously.

Begovic should be in for this - strongest 11 for me, though I'm not sure what that is. . Strongest 11 including bego. I say bego - Cameron shawcross Wilson pieters - whelan arnie ( in the hope that he does perform in a match against a big team coz otherwise he's been Shite in the last few games) Ireland Walters - assaidi crouch

What kind of line-up for this one then? Sorensen Cameron Shawcross Wilson Pieters Nzonzi Whelan Walters Adam Arnautovic Jones 8-|I dunno, hence all the chin stroking going on bego for sorro and crouch for jones

Sorro Cameron Shawcross Wilson Pieters Nzonzi Whelan Walters (pennant 80) Ireland (Adam 75) Arnie (assaidi 75) KJ
This is what MH will do most likely. If arnie starts instead of assaidi we are going for it. I think he'll be safe. But it should be a good game nonetheless.
Palacios Crouch Wilko muniesia Pennant Adam Arnie

It's nice that we've got ourselves into this position, but in all honesty I think we can't be better than 2/1 to beat Man United. Still though, that's a pretty good spot to be in and I'm very excited to see if we can make it!

Yep, 2/1 to qualify and 15/4 to win in normal time with Bet365.
edit: the 15/4 looks like decent value!

Potentially a defining moment for this season and the opportunity for Hughes, the team and the fans to lay down a massive marker.
Attack them like we did at The Theatre of Misguided Sense of Self-importance, show no fear as we did second half v Chelsea and reintroduce their preening, pampered "idols" to what a genuine atmosphere is and we'll go marching into the semi final.
Time to write a bit of history Mark, Ryan et al. This is what it's all about lads.
We'll be with you......

This is a rare opportunity to get to a semi final. We have to play the strongest possible team.

Jones does my tree in however Ferdinand might fancy Crouch easier to deal with so maybe this one is a good shout? As ever it would depend on which Jones turns up. Maybe he will be up for it given he has to earn a contract off somebody.

Keeper situation totally depends on what, if anything, has been agreed. Otherwise no reason at all to rest anyone for this after picking up a few points recently.

Heavy rain and 30mph winds forecast during the game and most of the day so may make it abit of a lottery also.

I'd rather win at the weekend and lose today than the other way round. No no and thrice no. Let's go for his one and have a bit of glory. We won't beat Manu with our reserves but we might beat Villa.

Why do we have to keep Sorensen happy? He gets paid, what £1.5 million a year? And he probably won't even be a Stoke player next season. Why should we deliberately handicap ourselves, when we've got a very good chance of picking up silverware just to keep somebody happy for a few months? If we thought that Bego needed a rest to improve his league form then fine but he doesn't. Bego should be the first name on the team sheet for the remainder of the competition - he's our best player ffs! This. Begovic everytime.

I'm a big believer of rotation in the cup games, and for me, it makes sense to rotate when we have such a winnable game at the weekend. I'll be happy whatever team we put out.

According to the Sentivale MH will play his strongest line up, and so he should. Conner wait for this one, if Sunderland can get through then so can we.
