ESPN's Taylor Twellman is saying he's being loaned to Utrecht in Holland. Not a bad loan. Hopefully he can knock 8 or 9 in for them. Brian Sciaretta ?@briansciaretta Breaking news!! Juan Agudelo is going on loan from Stoke City to Utrecht Brian Sciaretta ?@briansciaretta Sources have told me Agudelo's loan to Utrecht is through the end of the Eredivise season. Utrecht currently 9th in the Eredivisie

Loan to Utrecht is great for Juan and Stoke. Juan can earn a starting spot for Utrecht and a trip to Brazil, in-turn earning a work permit for next season.

Are there any of their players we may be getting in return for this favour? Did I imagine it or were we linked with one of their defenders, Davy Bulthuis, a while back?

All desperately underwhelming.
Why hasn't he gone to PSG with that Ibralifesabitch coming the other way?
Sort it out Stoke.

Good news. Hopefully he get some game time and come back to us in the pre-season a little stronger and more confident.

SentinelFC UTRECHT are expected to wrap up the loan signing of Juan Agudelo from Stoke City.
The Dutch side lead a four-club chase for the 21-year-old striker's short-term future while he waits to be granted a work permit in the UK.

Looking forward to him playing for us next season, we obviously rate the lad highly and have worked hard to make this work. I can't profess to know too much about him as a player but from the bits i've seen online (sometimes those can be taken with a pinch of salt i know) he looks like the kind of player we've been in need of for quite a while. It's like having a striker on pre-order, just hope they don't put the release date back again

9th in the Eredivise is what, Championship standard? Still think he'll struggle to get into the World Cup squad, but what do I know?

That Spender Wadsworth guy (is he his agent?) has told that Brian Sciaretta to hold his horses. Maybe there's more stuff to sort out.
Spencer Wadsworth ?@spencrwadsworth 5m If a 1st or 2nd hand reliable source hasn't tweeted or retweeted it I'm hard pressed to say it isn't true...#justsaying #JustWaitOnIt
I can see this dragging out until the end of January.

Sort it out Stoke. He needs to go to a club where he will play for most of the time.

what if this lad can't hack it with utrecht? if he doesn't do well in the dutch league, which is well possible, we're stuck with him on our books for 4 years with no hope of playing for us

some may be very surprised at some of the clubs we beat to get his signature. One in particular. Who was it?

Please can someone provide a short synopsis of where we are with this one?
My speed-read of recent posts suggests we have contracted the player even though he does not have a work permit.
Someone (Agudelo or his agent?) are insisting we don't renege on the contract and we cannot legally pull out of it so we have a player who can't play for us.
To make the best of this sorry situation we are loaning him out to someone (who may or may not pay some part of his wages) and the hope remains that at some point in the next 4 years, or maybe more than once, we try again for a work permit and hope something gives.
Is that it in a nutshell?

Is that it in a nutshell? That's the negative twatbag side. The positive full of light side is we wanted him anyway so stuck with him even though we can't play him in the hope that in the future we'll have a player on our hands. The loan just makes sense, he's playing football and learning, excellent.

And if he turns out to be shit, then he probably won't have cost us anymore than your average Tommy Soares. Hughes seems to think he's a future £10m player, so hopefully he knows what he's on about.

I base it on absolutely nothing, but I think he's going to be a star for us.

I have a very good feeling about it but that's because I've seen him play on a few occasions and he is very Fuller-esque in his movement/trickery He has massive potential and is already a very good finisher I just HOPE we treat him right and not rush him
