When he eventually plays for us. This is the tune we need to sing his name to, it would sound brilliant IMO

Could it be that we can't officially announce because he technically can't be an employee based in the UK without a work permit? and we are just waiting for a loan so we can announce without breaking any immigration employment laws? I really don't know work permit details in the UK as I'm from the US, but this could be the reason his name was left out of the official announcements

Could he get a job in any situation?
Players from outside Europe get paid to be on sports programmes etc?
Do they need a work permit to do this?

So don't think that is the problem. Probably to do with the technicalities of the loan, maybe we are after some sort of release clause if we get him a permit in March.

I was hypothesizing why he wasn't officially introduced to the press with Ireland and Guidetti yesterday. I figured the loan wasn't done yet (it may very well be why you think), I just wasn't sure why the club wouldn't want to officially announce a new signing that we have clearly been after for quite some time

They might not want to upset anybody with connections to the appeal process either by stating what they think may happen down the road...?

American siteAccording to this guy (who writes for the official MLS website), Standard Liege are the hot favourites... Part Deux: Juan Is Not A Lonely NumberOkay, so we all know Juan Agudelo the player is now Stoke City property. And if you read NSC, you apparently are the only ones anywhere who already know that his is no new second-chance deal, but that he has actually been signed to the club since the August pre-deal. I keep wondering when other outlets will figure this out. Cripes, Sky thinks he is going to Stoke on loan.
Now, loan suitor names have started to leak out - some true, some false. Let us finally discuss this openly.
I know Standard Liège have a great shot, they seem the favorites. At least they did a couple days ago, for what it may be worth. A couple local scribes have gotten wind that FC Twente are making a play, and I can confirm this is correct. Beyond that, it is a foggy picture. It would make a good amount of sense, but I cannot confirm rumored loan bidder Anderlecht are currently in the running. Ditto to an extent for known admirers Valencia - but if I had to make a call gun-to-head, my guess would be they are gone now. There was at least one other big Dutch team milling about on my last check, but erm, I am stuck between two possibles on that identity.
As for the time to learn his temporary home until the end of the season, I believe that is coming very soon. Of course, these things often take longer than I expect. Or maybe I am just impatient. The good news is it seems very, very likely that he will be located not terribly far from me for a while.

Can't see how we could sell the idea of a loan to another club on this basis. We'd be asking them to give him regular game time ie; don't buy anyone better in the meantime, but by the way, we might want him back in two months, thereby leaving you with a weakened team for the rest of the season. I'm not sure we'd be allowed to terminate the loan in March anyway under FIFA rules.

Got his song sorted now then: Oh oh, He's American, He's an illegal American, He's an American in the U Kkkkk (to the tune of Englishman in New York) PS - By American, I mean South American but it doesn't fit so well.

its a complete joke we are in this position given how Traore has just been granted a permit. To a degree it works out nicely that Agudelo may get some decent game time on the continent whereas he may have sat on our bench over here. It still annoys that his permit was rejected.
