No week would be complete without one of these threads before the next game. What do you think it should be?
I'll go...
Bego Cameron Huth Shawcross Pieters Arnie Ireland Palacios Nzonzi Assaidi Crouch
Obviously it goes without saying Walters will start and i'm 99% sure the team will be unchanged. That said it would be fair to say Nzonzi could have few complaints if he was dropped though i'm not sure we have another DM capable of playing at this level at the moment. His attitude this season has been abysmal as have most of his performances.
Huge game - one we simply need to win (particularly with a trip to Everton the week after).

Would love to see that XI, mate. Walters played well last game though... He'll play instead of Assaidi - but other than that I think that will be the team come Saturday.

Seems to be a good call.....as said already though Walter's is nailed on so Assaidi will have to be a sub ( who gets brought on whether we're winning or not!! are you listening MH? ) Many might prefer Whelan to Palacios ..me personally I prefer Palacios but only if he's not blowing after 50-60mins!! PS I wonder when Muniesa is going to get his chance it would be interesting to possibly see him picked for once.

I'd be tempted to give Cameron a go in midfield.
Bego Wilko Ryan Huth Pieters Cameron NZonzi Assaidi Ireland Arnie Crouch
It will probably be Walters on the right though, Palacios in midfield and Cameron at RB.

However, despite Whelan's shitness, I cant believe i'm saying this but I wouldn't be totally against him being given a run out instead of Nzonzi but ONLY if we play 2 proper wingers....that means both Arnie and Assaidi/Pennant in the side. Also good point on Muniesa. I thought he looked great at St Andrews the other week and looks a fine player on the ball.

Yep wouldn't have any problems with Cameron in midfield. Along with Ireland it could be argued Cameron has been our most positive and influential forward player this season. Hes been excellent going forward. As touched upon by other posters though I'm still nowhere near convinced hes a right back. His energy could be invaluable in the centre...hes wasted at full back.

Begovic
Wilkinson Huth Shawcross Pieters
Whelan Ireland Nzonzi
Walters Crouch Arnie
Walters should deservedly keep his place and hopefully another good performance will help boost his confidence more.
We're getting found out down the right far to much for my liking, its time to bring Wilkinson back in and have a bit of simple defending back.
I'd love to play Adam but his failure to complete even 70 minutes means we so often lose momentum in the second half.

Even though Whelan is poor, as you quite rightly say, I must admit I like the idea of dropping NZonzi for a game or 2 as he needs to know that he has to get his attitude sorted out if he wants to be guaranteed a game......according to stats (???!!! ) he is by far our best passer though so maybe he is undroppable as things stand, as far as MH is concerned. I still think it's a real pity Tone never signed Huddlestone when he had the chance last summer TBH, but oh well water under the bridge and all that I guess.

If you agree with having Shea on the bench, that very reply of yours is some contender for the post of the month!

I've been thinking the same lately that N'Zonzi needs a game or two on the bench to Wake up! Wake up or go is my message to the petulant young man! Not doubting his ability, but his mind set!

I watched the first 15 mins of the Ireland game Friday night. Whelan got put through into the box towards the byline. All he had to do was put it across the box and it could've led to a goal. Instead, under no pressure from an opposition number, he just blasted it over the bar and out of play.
I can't remember the last time he impressed me. For us or Ireland.

Biggest problem for me with Whelan is that when he passes the ball it is nearly always slightly behind the man and this breaks our attacking momentum.
