It does just goes to show though that stoke fans have completely lost their bottle. it's not a question of losing one's bottle but of being realistic. We have always built our survival in the prem on the strength of our home performances. Losing at home to Norwich and failing to beat Sunderland at home does not augur well for our survival prospects

True enough but then we've always brushed Norwich aside with relative ease too at home too. You can't deny that our home form is a huge worry..?

It's undeniable that we have been very poor at home. Scored twice against a weak crystal palace from set pieces, failed to score against a Norwich side which is a strong contender for relegation and only managed to score from a freak goal against an admittedly strong Southampton. So the 3 points are really needed against fellow strugglers Sunderland to pick up out home form

Bego Cameron Huth Shawcross Pieters Arnie Wheelo Nzonzi SUPER-Jon Ireland Crouch
More in hope than from any belief Hughesy will go 4-4-2.
Even if it is 4-3-3, I still reckon that will be the starting personnel. He doesn't seem to be one for changing (meet the new one, just like the old one ...) too often, but I can see Wheelo getting a game for a bit of tough tackling in a big home game - Given it's only November, this is as must win as it gets.

Team who has been poor at home vs a team who has been poor away. Doesn't strike as a potential classic does it?
Being optimistic I'll say thatwe are due a home win.
Whatever XI turns out needs to show a massive improvement in attitude as lately it's not been right.

You were probably too busy abusing other posters to notice Usually when a manager is sacked his replacement is expected to do better, so far Hughes isnt.

I bet you could tell us.

I'd play this......
.....................Begovic........................
Cameron....Huth.....Shawcross....Pieters
Assaidi....Nzonzi.....Ireland....Arnautovic
.............Walters.....Crouch.................
If Hughes plays the same sort of formation he has done then this would be my choice to fit it....

This is of course a vital match as it's firstly one of the major relegation matches anyone who wasn't dumb enough to think Benitez would be managing Stoke by now assumed we'd be getting into this season. And secondly because Sunderland are now managed by the man a lot of people (me included) would like to have seen as TPs replacement. And he's not doing a bad job so far either, although since that's in comparison to DiCanio it's not so hard to look at least adequate. So I would very much like to see Gus Poyet utterly humiliated and completely shafted on Saturday, till he's nothing but a small whimpering bag of Uruguayan intestines full of poisoned pikelets with his career disappearing into history like a north eastern shipyard. Goooaaaarrrrrnnnnnnnnnn Stoke! Mash up the Makems. It can be done and it should be done, and so it will be done. Simple, isn't it.

Lose and we could be in the relegation zone, so yea it is pretty much win, especially against a bottom 3 side.

They're saying the same thing on RTG.
They beat Citeh then lost away at Hull so don't know what to expect.
We need to be right up and at 'em from the off, I reckon first goal will be key.
That's if it's not a 0-0 borefest as is quite likely if they park it...

We need you in the trenches boss. The poison is that deep we can only sit back and watch. This !! When are Stoke fans going to wake up again to keep our Premiership status ? It mattered enough back in 2008 Are we just not that arsed any more

Begovic Cameron . Shawcross . Huth . Pieters N'Zonzi . Muniesa Assaidi . Ireland . Arnautovic Crouch Finally someone posted a fictional line up that actually has our best players (currently) all in. Although to be fair I would also like to see N'Zonzi dropped just to see if it lights a fire under his arse, but I think I'd rather see him sulking, than watch Whelan make poor passes, stupid tackles and give away possession 70% of the time. We know SJW will still get the start (and I am a big fan), I still maintain he would be best on as a sub so he can use his work rate most effectively when the opposition is a bit tired.
