They are ok with TP it's the thought of steak and chips every week and waiting for apples to drop that's causing the panic

Was? Are you Gypsy Rose Lee? He didn't take us down and he was with us ten years. It must fucking kill the likes of you that he made you look complete tools. well said sir some of the ungrateful wankers on here dont deserve a prem football team and its my bet that the majority of the phw would dissapear if the unthinkable happened and we went down! like any true football fan i am backing our manager [mh] 100% but i will allways be grateful for the job tony pulis did at stoke Quite right. That Werrington is a Johnny Come Lately of the worst kind. He wants fucking off up the Vale ASAP!

That's right - more posts on this board is definitive proof of good judgement. Simple logic really.

And then Plymouth came back early the next season after the prodigal one had returned to us with their fans singing 'we're not boring anymore' all match. And they weren't. Still went down though the following season. No they didn't go down the following season this is a myth spouted by the baloons that think Pulis is something he isn't. In the year Pulis managed Argyle (05/06) they finished 14th with 56 points. The following year under Holloway they finished 11th with 67 points. The year after 10th with 64 points with Holloway and then Paul Sturrock in charge. It wasnt until 2009/10 that they were relegated A FULL 4 YEARS after Pulis left them. The FACTS are that Argyle considerably impoved after Pulis left and Holloway and Surrock both deliverered a greater return in both points and entertainment from the same resources. What caused Argyle to eventually fall down the leagues was a disaterous takeover by faceless owners who promised the earth and delivered nothing. Maybe we are in the same position right now as they were the first season post Pulis? Maybe it will all go pear shaped for us in 4 years time? And if it does it will have sweet FA to do with TFP not being here anymore! BM

Guardian are strongly touting McClaren. They claim Di Matteo isn't too fussed and Poyet would have major reservations about operating in a structure where the DOF has big autonomy in player recruitment. For the same reasons, you'd think Pulis wouldn't touch it?

I don't know what they are getting worked up about.
TP will be about their 30th choice.
The law of averages states that they are not going to make another decision as daft as the last one.

To be honest I don't think TP would go for it even if it was offered, if you look at the dreadful squad he would have to inherit, the distrust and disharmony in the dressing room and most worryingly their run of games coming up then they could almost be relegated by Christmas. I'm not sure anyone can turn it round up there.

He would solidify them to the point where they are like a block of cheese placed in the freezer for two hours. Then slowly as the season goes on the cheese will be removed from the freezer and gradually the cheese will be left at room temperature enabling discoloration and souring to the edge of relegation. Pulis will leave and the block of cheese will be left to be placed back into the freezer.

Hopefully wont happen. Don't particularly want the worry of possibly losing Shawcross, Huth, Bego or others to Blunderland, who could no doubt pay more than us (remember Pulis likely knows what they all earn). That, and I want a relegation spot taken asap. Mad, airy football 'sexy' managers seem to be the order of the day, why stop now? Could be down by Christmas To find out what a footballer earns you just ask his agent.

I think I can safely say that was one of the best hours I've ever spent on a rival's message board.
The poor Mackems don't know whether to laugh or cry, bless 'em.
I bet there's a fair few pacing around their back yards tonight chain smoking and hoping it will have all gone away in the morning...

Given they are getting all emotional about a football manager, do you think they will be looking for ideas on bell-end type signatures to accompany their posts? I was wondering if you had seen anything suitable?

For all his failings he's brilliant at organising a solid unit. Offer him a Rafa style contract until they can bring in a new Messiah at the end of the season.

Why would TP swap one set of ugrateful so and so's for another ? Yes, I really enjoyed travelling to Villa Park to watch a recreation of Rourke's Drift. Although Villa did win the European Cup in 1980 so a draw was a minor miracle...

If the TP does go to Blunderland maybe the Premier League would consider co-ordinating the two clubs' fixture lists, so that fans of the Great Man could watch him at Blunderland on the weeks when Stoke are away from home! Joint season tickets could be issued for those who wanted them with, maybe, a Titanium + membership scheme to show that they are fans of both clubs. Sheikhmomo could be Titanium Plus member #1. I'm really starting to see the marketing possibilities of this - I just hope that nice Mr Scholes and Blunderland's lady Chief Exec are aware of the big opportunity they have should TP accept the job! Talking about that lady chief exec, remember her stellar performance at the press conference when Di Canio was unveiled? She found an amazing number of ways to not confirm whether or not he was a fascist - I really look forward to seeing her convince the Blunderland faithful that TP will quickly bring them the silverware they yearn for.

You're right, that was entertaining. I'd love to be in the room when Sunderland approach Pulis and say "The deal is Tony, you come up here, save us from relegation and then fuck off after a season so we can get someone else who we actually like"

If he got the job would he see the game against us as a bonus game?

Pulis would do a good a job as any at keeping them up. In fact, probably better than most. If I were them the style of football would be the least of my concerns right now with that bunch of mediocre players.
Hopefully they'll get their wish, get someone else and go down.

Cannot see how Sunderland could go wrong if they appointed Pulis on a rolling contract, just to keep them up this season if needs be then appoint a "Zola" type manager in the summer.
sure the football is shit but it's effective.
