You don't want to be negative after the weekend but this signing is depressing, unambitious, cheap, pointless, risky and basically pathetic. It does strike as a desperate dan type signing at this stage. I personally like him and think he will be good under Hughes but you would have thought this would have been done earlier, since it was obvious that he is surplus and nobody else wants him? I guess we missed out on our other targets and he is Plan Z? Either way I have a sneaky feeling that, back under Hughes, he will be our best signing of the summer. Low expectations and all that.

Pretty wank tbh. Hopefully he'll be a revelation. Hoping for a revelation....Wow!! You're not going to accept anything less then? Anything less won't be good enough after how bad he's played in the majority of his career!

Think its a steady signing with no risks and if he can find his Citeh form we'll have a very good player in the squad.

About 26. Hopefully we'll get him on a free/cheap at the end of the season if he does well.

27 though could be a masterstroke if he re-finds his early Man City form.
still prefer Adam in that position though

He looks dead smiley on Ssn at the training ground.
Anyone think maybe he contacted Hughes and initiated this?

Got to trust the manager on this one.
First thoughts are I'm not excited about this at all but then you can't argue with the standard of performances he was putting in under Hughes, he obviously fits his system wether he can reproduce the same level of performance is a different matter. At the very least he should keep Adam sharp on his toes & he could turn out to be a masterstroke, I hope we have a buy option just incase.

If only we had signed him on loan instead of spending millions on him
oh wait
& whats that we are only paying a small % of his wages too?
loan deal imho is fine. if he's shit &.or trouble send him back if he grows up & does well sign him up

What is it with Lambert? He's done the same to Bent, Hutton and Ireland, as if he was trying to knock their value down to £0.00.

I remember kevin phillips saying on the radio that any player who signs for a new club always comes onto the internet forums to have a look at opinion etc. If your reading this thread stephen then welcome to stoke city. Hope it works out and you can get back on it. Good luck youth. Plenty of different personalities about in football, do your talking on the pitch.

Well, it's fairly uninspiring , but it's only a loan and if Hughes can get him back on form he could well do us a job. Does he care enough to get his career back on track is the real question for me?

Was a great player. Fair enough he hit tough times for some reason but so did most of our squad. Hes got alot prove and sparkie knows him so lets give the guy a chance. With the crowd behind them it seems to turn them around.

Perfect loan signing to be honest. Has a lot to prove.
As several others have said it doesn't really matter if it doesn't work out. We didn't exactly take years to shake off the Henri Camara loan not working out did we?

Surely he is in last chance saloon with this move and he'll need to play well to earn a contract with us?Just a thought like.

I hope we get An option to buy on the deal. If he recreates his Man C form we have a 15m player.
