I would push the boat out to sign this guy. The Swedes hold him in the same regard as Ibrahimovic based on his talent and obvious potential.
Surely it is either him OR Odemwingie though?
Diouf and Guidetti in, combined £12m. Jerome and Jones out, combined 7m
Assaidi and Hoilett in, combined loan+5m Kightly and Etherington out, combined £3m
Get it done Stoke, I think we can afford £7m

There is room for Guidetti and a player like Odemwingie. Guidetti is a centre forward albeit a pretty mobile one. Odemwingie can play either as a striker, a winger or as a wide player in a 433. He's getting on, of course, but a front three of Guidetti, Odemwingie plus AN Other would be pretty exciting. And, when Odemwingie's age does start to catch up on him, we'd have Aduguelo to take over - Like everyone else, I've only seen Aduguelo on video but he plays a bit like a young Odemwingie.

Well I am basing it on the presumption we will get Diouf, I still feel we will. At which point I should probably have stated: Surely we wont get Odemwingie, Guidetti AND Diouf!

I suppose it depends upon how many of our strikers are leaving. Whether you play 442 or 433 you still need two centre forwards in the squad. Personally, I'd like to see Jones leave (as he is out of contract next summer) and Crouch leave as I don't think he has the pace to play effectively in a 433. That would mean that Guidetti and Diouf would be ideal replacements - with Odemwingie or similar as a wide striker and third choice centre forward.

If anyone cares to check my previous posts, Ive chirped on about Guidetti for months.
This is one player who has the attributed of Ricky Fuller in terms of mkaing something happen out of nothing, he his pace, the heading ability of Andy Carroll ( who I think is the best header of the ball in the prem) and isnt afraid of puttin it on the line to nick a goal.
A modern day Andy Gray/ Duncan Ferguson type player.
Get him and its game on !!!!

If so is he as good as his goals record for Feyenoord suggest?

Ive only seen him live 3 times lord, against Heracles Almelo, Vitesse and Ajax, but he was the dogs...I know its only personal opinions but I think hes got the lot. The Feyenoord fans were absolutely gutted when he went back to Man City. If you go to his twitter account they thnk hes 'the second coming' !!

A mention in the MailStoke manager Mark Hughes is keen to bring in two strikers and another midfielder with Manchester City’s John Guidetti ready to join on loan.

Can't question the guys talent but 5.5 million for someone who hasn't hardly touch a ball in 18 month and is just getting back to fitness from an illness which almost ended his career, Imho is very risky.
A loan to End season with agreement on perm if we choose to do so.

What is all the fuss about Guidetti? If he is THAT good then what's he doing in Holland?? He getting long in the tooth now...

Yes I suppose so, but we all thought Arnie was the new Fuller, but that's been put on hold for who know how long? I want someone who can reliably hit the ground running, not a tasty stab in the dark...

But that guy who can reliably hit the ground running is likely to cost you £10 million +.
The alternative is to go for Berbatov..........

We didn't need that for Beattie did we? He made a big impact. I'm only thinking about THIS season, the £15mill is for someone long term, i reckon we ain't gonna do long term signings this month.

Very much a rock the city signing. Would be our most promising since being promoted! 20 in 23 out on loan says it all. Can score penalties too ;D He does seem realpromising ( at least pre-virus!) But Dutch league goals are strange beasts - Altidore got 23 in 21 last season in that league! you're right. And do you remember that cf Mboro had signed from the Dutch league for some 10 million ages ago ? Alvez was his surname if I remember well . He had scored an avalanche of goals in the eredivisie but then hardly managed a couple in the premier league all season

The only video anyone needs to watch... F@ck me if that doesn't turn back the clock. Last time I saw that trick it was when our own Bayern Oatcake turned out for Alsager Town against Burslem United back in 98.

To be honest I think if this is true it's quite worrying. It gives the impression that we can't really attract anyone of any note. We need a striker scoring goals, bang in form and sharp. Guidetti hasn't kicked a ball in anger for so long now, what would be the point in loaning this guy? It'd take him a couple months to sharpen up and that's time we don't have. Steer well clear of this one Stoke!
