It was good to be able to pop down to Clayton Woods this afternoon and witness the first signs of a new era of football for Stoke City. We captured a couple of minutes of the game and witnessed over 30 passes in this time with plenty of one and two touch football being played. Just says video is private and won't play?

What's the point in posting a video that's private and that nobody can watch?

Anyone can make a mistake. But it takes a special kind of organisation to allow 7 hours to pass without checking whether they have made a mistake! Sloppy, very sloppy.

i can see it :-) ..... but to be fair, one would EXPECT to retain possession against that quality of opposition.

Controlled passing good to see
Final score?

It will be strange to get the chance to chant "boring" as our own players pass it round at the back against Arsenal! Cheers 6 Towns - better late than never!

Can put together 120 passes or 2 passes as long as we put the ball in the net. All thy video showed to me was we had no cutting edge still

There is zero entertainment to be had from simply passing a football - it is a means to an end not an end in itself. To talk of it as a step forward is daft.

Some strange reactions to a two minute portion of a ninety minute game. Always suspected the players had the ability to pass, what interested me most was that players where making themselves available to be passed to. Looked a far more mobile team than of late, but let's not carried away it was only a two minute snippet.
Thanks 6towns

I imagine coaches want to try different things in preseason, so it's possible that this isn't going to be the way we always play, but it's more of a training exercise to see how the players deal with a passing style in a game situation.

(looked like a good solid away performance from last season to me !)

I think some are taking the pass and move go literal. Its over the top to get players used to a ball at their feet. Its a training match.
People say no end product but I didn't see much end product from a team that hoofed it up and defended for 90 mins hoping a bit if luck got us a goal.
Some people really are clueless.
That said we don't look sharp with the ball at feet. More competitive friendlies required me thinks.

I take it stoke were the team in yellow ? (looked like a good solid away performance from last season to me !) Also looked like 90% of the HOME performances from last season (sit back, defend for our lives, punt long, hope for a set piece on the edge of opposition area, miss rare goalscoring chance) WHAT??? We weren't playing in yellow
