Sven. Fucking hell. The level of reality on this site is sinking below the North Sea. Hey, how about Bill Shankly? We could dig him up.

Lennon, Sven, HR, Hughes, McLeish, the list goes on! I can see your reasoning for everybody in that last but not Sven? Why do you think Sven is a bad suggestion? he aswell imo is very achievable. Leicester didn't convince me.

Rafael Benitez would be the absolute dream appointment in my view.
He's still based in the area so I believe its just whether the powers that be at Stoke have the mentality to go and try and get him should Pulis leave.

i can't really see Newcastle changing their manager this season though. Pardew has kept them up and has enough excuses regarding injuries and Europa League participation, and enough credit in the bank from last season to have earned another crack at it surely?

Thousands of Stoke fans deny their expectation levels have gone too high, yet many believe Rafa Benitez is a genuine candidate for the Stoke job. David Moyes will have a huge task in following Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford, the eventual successor to Tony Pulis will find it a massive task too. I would be amazed if the really top managers would be interested in any future Stoke vacancy. Time for a dose of reality guys. Bloody ell Geoff, no disrespect or anything but your talking about doses of reality... Your the one defending Pulis on each and every thread as if he's done no wrong, almost as if he's achieved something more than he's ever done for us before. The way you defend him it's almost as if he deserves to have his own open top parade through the city. Reality check indeed.

Your infact the one shooting down others for daring to dream about a new manager, why wouldn't Benitez be attainable? do you know him?. Ive picked up Geoff there because his opinion usually refers to our club as "them", he often refers to Stoke as a third party and its baffled me to the point that I question if he is a Stoke supporter or just someone trying to create debates on numerous threads. If he is a Stoke supporter with an opinion then I respect that. But hey, Im sorry Im not happy clapping a poor season like Geoff is, calling a manager who almost got us relegated this season as "outstanding" and opening a bottle of champagne after holding on against 10 men Sunderland. I got no personal problem with him, I just dont share his opinion after he says people should have a reality check because guess what, I have had a real reality check this year and Ive seen that if we continue with this method under Pulis then my club might just be relegated next season or the one after and I dont want to sit back, pick buttercups and stick my rose tinted specs on hoping the past 18 months was just a blip. Sorry once again then I dont share some peoples opinion. It clearly bothers you.

At least Geoff the troll is now admitting that Pulis not really a top manager. I await his next slip up with baited breath. OS. Geoff how about a dose of reality that given the 'right' financial offer most folks/footballers/managers will go anywhere and do ANYTHING? Plus wasn't Rafa at Stoke recently for a short period behind the scenes? Don't know if that's true, but for me this would be a dream appointment, I live in hope!!

Why does "self-delusion" bother you? By definition it doesn't involve you, if you refer to it as delusion you do not believe it. Were you the kid who always told the other kids that Santa Claus doesn't exist. Chill out and let us dream if we want to.

Self-delusion and unreality is your opinion though. Why does it bother you so much that people have their own thoughts that might not match yours, if you dont like it mate dont read it surely?. People can dream can't they? Im in agreement partly with you that Benitez probably could be a bit of a dream but hey, who knows, there wont be much else around in the UK for him given the current availability within the Premier League. After the year we have had surely some Stoke fans are allowed to dream a little arent they or is that against the Pro-Pulis regime?.

Leicester didn't convince me. It wasnt even half way through the season and he was 3 points off a play-off place? For the structure etc they had, wasn't good enough. Forgive me if I'm wrong though it's been a few years. Just since his decline (wan't he at Notts County too?) it seems a bizarre move.

The money we've pissed away on some signings in the past means we shouldn't think twice about paying someone like Rafa a decent wedge. Anyone know what Pulis is on?

Just since his decline (wan't he at Notts County too?) it seems a bizarre move. He did explain that move to Notts County, of course money played it's part but for me his CV & pedigree says enough I need to know about Sven's capabilities. His C.V would put 99% if not all of current Premiership managers to shame. ~He is vastly experienced in all corners of the globe, for some to suggest he wouldn't do a good job at Stoke is Pub Talk imo. And to think we could get such a manager if we wanted to... beggars belief that he is not first choice for me at least.
