Blimey the snouts have had to truffle deep to find a worry from securing another year of safety today.

So a lad who has developed at the club into our skipper and an England international is overrated? Do you like/rate any of our players out of interest?

Seriously? On what grounds is he overrated? FFS Listen carefully I will say this only once. TP IS GOING NOWHERE Jeez On what do you base that comment because if its on tonys own words get your money on him leaving because usually with everything he says the truth is the normally the exact opposite

I thought he was below par today, so maybe he does have other things on his mind as has been said above. Or maybe the players know that TP is on his way and that some players have taken it better than others, Ryan being one that has taken it badly? Maybe it accounts for an upturn in certain players' performances? Maybe that's what the media ban is really all about? Really? Asides from that early balls up with Begovic where he gave away the corner I thought he was fine. It's been such a relief that in the last two games we've been solid at the back and kept a clean sheet, without our goal ever really looking under threat. Our defence has been absolutely dreadful lately, routinely giving away joke goals within the first ten minutes on the opposition's first attack. They didn't have a single shot on target today and QPR were restricted to hundreds of shots from at least 25 yards out. That's a big, important improvement, even if the standard of opposition was poor.

Anyone observe Ryan Shawcross' actions at the end of today's game? It may be me, but Ryan is always one of the last to leave the pitch at the end of the game, having walked to the half way line, shaken hands with the officials, he ALWAYS approaches the Boothen End to applaud the supporters. In all his years with us I have never once seen him not do this. Today, as soon as the final whistle sounded, he sprinted down the tunnel. He didn't shake hands with anyone, didn't congratulate his team-mates or acknowledge the officials. Just straight down the tunnel. Hopefully, he had a dodgy tummy and needed a shit but I wondered if he has become a little tetchy with the crowd as the audible groans when he launches yet another long ball in the direction of no-one in particular are seemingly becoming louder each week? It was very strange to see from our Skipper. Anyone else notice this? He did the same at the semi final because one of his kids wasn't very well he said in an interview a few days later so it could be similar thing, strikes me as a real family man.

An England international, will he be picked in squads for major tournaments in the future?

An England international, will he be picked in squads for major tournaments in the future? Probably not. International football selections are fickle and the loudest voices in football are, in general, pig ignorant.

An England international, will he be picked in squads for major tournaments in the future? So you're basing someone's quality on whether they get picked for an England side which is entirely dictated by which team you play for.

could have been many reasons that he ran down the tunnel
injury, toilet issues, illness, didnt want to shake grant holts sweaty talons, had to be somewhere
even if you were a bit pissed at the fans you'd still stay behind and clap at the end

I'm not saying he's shit mate, far from it. He cannot distribute a football. He was poor today, will a top four, no a top six club come in for him next season i dont think so. It amuses me that Nzonzi, Huth and Shawcross are immune from criticism on this forum,

On the other hand, you may require a prescription.

Ryan has been a part of a good defence for 6 years now, usually one without full backs get a grip he can be quicker but he did not grow up at united hoofing the ball if we sign the right players and play more positively he will be fine ,he has lots of improvement in him

It amuses me that Nzonzi, Huth and Shawcross are immune from criticism on this forum, He's one of the best centre halves in the country. Top clubs have been looking at him which is why we got him to sign a 6 year deal. If you stick him in a top four team he would excel in my opinion. He's a proper defender's defender who would flourish in a team that has more of the ball and alongside a Ferdinand type of player. He can distribute the ball just as well as most centre halves it's just that most aren't asked to twat it up the pitch every time he gets it.

Ryan is a great defender but he is not fulfilling his massive potential.Under the right manager he would.

He does if there isn't an easy 10 yard pass to Ryan. Big Rob is actually worse than Ryan when he does launch it long!

He was poor today I thought. First half especially.
His lady has tweeted something trivial tonight though
"@kathbuckley: I was so excited to get 3 points today... Shame a small majority of fans ruin it...."
Wonder if this is anything to do with it?

It staggers me that people knock Ryan's distribution. He is asked to play 50-60 yard balls up the pitch and land them on the target man's head. He does this with startling accuracy. He is a fine long passer of the ball.
Just watch the difference when Ryan doesn't play (our garbage distribution from the back at home to Southampton), or even when somebody else takes up long ball duties. Even Huth is dire at it.
That's without even questioning what exactly would happen if he passed the ball to N'Zonzi so that N'Zonzi could hold onto it for a few minutes before laying it off backwards.
