FFS it’s blindingly obvious some of you aren’t happy with Pulis and his current team selection/tactics and style of football, but show the man some respect and stop slagging him off for anything he does and everything he says some of the vitriol aimed towards him is totally out of order, just remember he’s the one that’s been responsible for arguably the best days we’ve ever witnessed at Stoke. Some of the things posted on here say just how disgustingly fickle some of the Johnny come lately’s are and some of you should hang your heads in shame but then again some of you won’t bat an eye lid over it probable the same ones that bet money on Stoke going down and openly brag about hoping it’ll happen if it means getting rid of the manager. It’s these so-called fans that I really wish would fuck off up the Vile and stay there. Gouranga. Go look up 'forum' and 'free speech' Gourang-off

Tony's time as manager of our club has, on the whole, been a hugely successful period when compared to other spells in our recent history (Macari years excluded for me). He's going down in my book as someone who deserves a big thank you from everyone connected with Stoke City & to leave with our best wishes.
Despite feeling this way, I have no problem with the vitriol displayed by some on this board as there's fuck all chance a millionaire football manager would spend his spare time trawling through all the cobblers written on here anyway!
..and yes of course I've been drinking it's half feckin 3 gone! :-)

However, I do object to the personal comments and the nasty language. TP deserves respect, but he's not beyond criticism. Unfortunately, much of the posting on here is about as low brow as it gets, people seem to like to say things in a way they never would face to face. The moderators should intervene more often (like the stewards are supposed to on match days, but don't). It's indicative of the general loss of respect for one another that characterises modern western society.

Is that the kind of ambition some of you have got look where we have come from and all that b**locks. Non the same as pulis yes some great memories have gone from his reign but everyone has there day and his has been up a long time. Watching the Sh*t football we have been playing is mind numbing. there used be 15-20 of us matchdays down to about 5 of us now and thats not down to the cack ale being served. Just because people want pulis out doesn't mean they support stoke any less than the next man they just have ambition want the club to push on instead of the negative attitude of just reaching 40 points every season. so heres hoping we get the win saturday pulis hits his 40 point mark then he packs his backs and does one.

From my experience it's the more hardened Stoke fan that really can't stand the man. I don't get the Johnny come lately argument at all. Exactly its the longest serving supporters in the main who have the most angst against Tony, as they have seen better football in this league from our club, and i include the 80's let alone the 70's in that, in fact the 82-83 side with Chambo, thomas, mcilroy, bracewell, watson, etc was the most cultured outstanding attacking football i have witnessed from a stoke side. In my experience like Bayerns, its the new supporters who have known nothing else other than tp who are his most ardent supporters. So in truth tatlock what you say is wrong in my view and when you are paid in excess of a million quid and produce what hes produced lately for us to endure its hardly surprising the criticism comes flowing from all strands of opinion on the tony pulis debate even hardcore rimmers (hate that expression) have been profuse in their disdain for the fare on offer. That said i am going on Saturday as always to give my team 100% backing and ensure our safety and then believe me one hell of a debate will then take place. Another sombering point is who genuinely believes any premiership club even including the likely relegated trio would employ Mr Pulis. I think that would end the debate if people were honest. Plenty would in the championship of that im sure but not in our league. Again its all a matter of opinion though.

My mother could achieve the same with his budget.
I mean come on 95% of managers could do it. Given a huge budget to get promoted, a doddle.
Spent 10s of millions to stay up in an average league, a doddle.
FA cup final which was the easiest run in existence and then bottled the final, a doddle.
Europa cup run by default against some no mark clubs, lose against the first real challenge, a doddle.
Some overestimate how good he is and how much he has achieved, you would expect nothing less, in fact he has underachieved with money spent. All the while doing it with one of the strongest budgets in the league.
Good manager my arse, Stoke made him and not the other way around. A league 1 plodder somehow by luck and fortune scraped his way to a club with a chairman digging deep.
He will fuck off into obscurity when he leaves here as no fucker worth their salt will take him on. A joke of a manager who should be booed back to sandbanks!

Dead right, Albert.
It's embarrassing some of the stuff posted by "supporters". I think it is a poor reflection on Stoke City football club.
If only we could have one of the critical experts on here as our manager, things would probably be a lot better.
I actually read that one poster, could have been the well known football guru, Sandbanks Kid, state without a hint of irony, that he would have got more points than Pulis if he was manager.
I think he genuinely believes it. Absolutely priceless.
Edit - see above. Here's another one. Tony your Mum's got a bright future ahead of her if she's a better Premier League manager than TP. Fully expecting her to rock up at Stamford Bridge any time soon for a piece of Roman's millions.

Simple fact is within a few years he will be forgotten about, won nothing, achieved nothing but a promotion. 3 managers do that every year.
The sooner he's wiped out of our history the better, a joker on a lucky run finally coming to an end like everyone expected.

i always find it funny that apparently if you criticise the manager for their shortcomings NOW then apparently you're showing a lack of respect for what their successes were in the PAST.
i'm not condoning (and have been quite vocal that i'm dead against) the name calling; "He's a f'ing prick" etc. (which to be fair is actually really quite rare)but simply pointing out facts to evidence that he clearly has simply reached his peak and doesn't really know how to push on from here in terms of the development of our club is NOT abuse, is NOT disrespectful and is perfectly acceptable, to be expected and valid to mention on a public message board intended for fans to use to voice their PERSONAL OPINIONS!!!!!
unfortunately however we have to deal with these inevitable threads which are simply started by the usual suspects that like to use phrases such as "Rimmer" or "PHW".....basically people who see only black and white, polar opposites and nothing in between.
the vast majority of "Abuse" (or as most who are aware of the difference in definitions call it, "Criticism" NB they're not actually the same thing!)is from people who fully appreciate what Pulis has done in his tenure and are very grateful and respectful for that. However, the minute someone questions that or proposes the idea that despite what he's done it's simply a case that he has now reached his zenith so it may be time to hand over the reigns to someone else then the same people mentioned above jump all over it screaming "Lack of respect", "Abuse, abuse..it's abuse i tell you!!"
one word......."BULLSHIT"!!!!
there is far, far more abuse on here thrown around by those people than any actual abuse i have seen of Pulis himself and is simply caused by the same posters time and time again failing to see the difference between abuse and valid criticism and then blowing it up out of all proportion in the same kind of way you'd expect to see the Daily Mail doing if someone slightly dark skinned had a rucksack in a airport.
if Pulis went then i think you would see the majority of fans at the ground AND on here show their respect, their gratitude and thanks for what he has done but would simply be excited about a new chapter in our history and the prospect of someone who MAY (not guaranteed admittedly) be able to push on a bit and start entertaining us again..that's all lads and lasses, nothing more..... there wouldn't be mass street parties, placards proclaiming the death of some malevolent force or planes writing celebratory comments in the sky over the Brit because the evil emperor had fallen. do you know why????? it's because it's football and no matter how passionate we all are about our club, football goes on. it doesn't stop because of the loss of a favourite player, a manager or a chairman...it transcends the kinds of change that we as fans may find difficult to accept and continues anyway regardless of all this.Stoke City would continue, the fans would continue and Pulis i'm pretty sure would continue either in another job or in retirement...if anyone genuinely, really thinks that Pulis comes on the board and goes to bed crying because of "Abuse" and "Criticism" about him on here then they're simply deluded.
he gets paid an AWFUL lot of money to do the job he does and accepts that because of that wage and his position (and stated publically that he accepts) that he is in a position where he WILL face pressure and criticism from the fans and it's down to HIM as to how he deals with that..he doesn't need people on here cyber warrioring for him on his behalf to protect him.
what i find even more strange however is that usually the same people who start these kinds of threads are quite often the same people who openly criticise some of the players who have been instrumental in a) getting us into the Prem b) helping to establish us in the Prem and c) helping us to get to that FA Cup final that resulted in our European adventure.....apparently it's fine to hurl abuse their way as all those achievements were seemingly thanks to Pulis and Pulis alone but when we perform terribly and the results reflect that then suddenly that's not the managers doing in any way shape or form and the abuse at the players is perfectly acceptable then! the hypocrisy is quite simply staggering at times!!!
i, like most of the board, DO respect Tony for what he's done for the club but don't for what he's doing to the club....two different things, two different tenses. i'm not a Rimmer, i'm not a PHW, i'm simply a fan of Stoke City so i will support the club long after Pulis and the current crop of players move on in the same way i did before any of them came here. does that make me abusive? NO..does that make me disrespectful? NO.. does being a lifelong supporter of Stoke give me the right to have my own opinion on the matter without the fear of being labelled abusive simply because i don't agree with someone else and they haven't got the brains to realise that not agreeing with the manager and wanting a change is NOT the same thing as hating him and being vitriolic and disrespectful towards him? DAMN RIGHT IT DOES!!!!!!!!!!!!
(p.s. apologies for the Ted like size of the post but the way that some people like to lump "disagreeing with the manager" and "lack of respect" together constantly is just doing my tits in nowadays)

I actually agree, that some people have been completely disrespectful of Tony, but don't categorize those who are merely commenting on the current teams achievements. At the moment, we're bordering on going down, we've got a demoralized team (perhaps not after QPR), an ageing team, one that doesn't look capable of staying in the Premiership this season so I dread to think about next season. At the end of the day, you can talk about respect and you can say that people are criticizing unfairly but if Tony hadn't let Stoke slip into the disastrous situation they are in now, perhaps the talk would be different. Many people have seen this coming for a long time, it seems Tony didn't.

If 95% of managers could win promotion then why haven't they? 'A huge budget' to get promoted? Really? Have you got the net spend figures for those two seasons? He was given financial backing for sure but factor in the sales of Duberry and Higgy... there were plenty of Champ clubs who spent more - both on fees and wages - and yet still didn't win promotion. It happens season after season. Plenty of Championship clubs who have better players, bigger wage bills and spend more on transfers and yet they are still stuck in the Championship. They must all be very unlucky right? QPR have spent more than we did to stay up in our first two seasons. They have had two of the most highly rated managers in English football - Hughes and Redknapp - who have both catastrophically failed. They haven't even come close to survival. Pulis achieved mid-table finishes in our first two seasons after promotion. How did he manage this? We had a relatively easy draw for the final yes. How did we manage to knock out both Man City and Arsenal the previous season? Wolves, West Ham and Bolton were all Premier League sides though. How did we manage to beat Bolton - who were then a midtable Premier League club and the pundits' favourites to beat us - by five goals? Losing 1-0 in the final to the richest club in the world who had just knocked out Man United in the semi-final... bottling it? We got into the Europa league because we got to an FA Cup Final... why didn't Wolves, West Ham and Bolton get Europa League football? Since when were Dynamo Kiev and Besiktas 'no mark clubs'? An average league? What is a good league then? Which league - over the last five years that we have been here - has been better than the Premier League? La Liga arguably, in virtue of Barcelona, but apart from that the Premier League has been the best league in the world for the last five years. If you take the last 10 years then it was THE best league in the world... how is it that English clubs have dominated the Champions League for the last decade? I'm glad you had such a shit time when we were pasting Bolton at Wembley because it's what you deserved.
