I can't see it being announced during a game if it's true. During the game would be fucking brilliant. TANNOY: "Would a Mr Smith please come to the main reception to collect your soon. Oh, and also this is the last game for Pulis." Or; TANNOY: "Would an Anthony please come to the main reception to collect your dad."

Off to the states I'd heard He SHOULD now leave but I truly hope it is under happy(ish) circumstances and of his own volition. He deserves a dignified exit Yeah - it would be the right time to exit if we stay up, before things sour any further. If we're safe, an announcement pre-Spurs would be perfect and he'd get a great reception. Sounds like we could have a huge, huge summer ahead.

I could buy them announcing it in the run up to the game, if we're safe, just about but at the game?! That's never happened before surely? "We'll be with you, Thanks for your support, happy birthday to us, Tones going" Sounds nonsense to me. That was going to be my post Sheikh It would be the strangest thing I've ever seen but I suppose it could happen

You do realise, KKK, that if this happens as you predict you will go into an unassailable lead amongst the ITKs? Dave's Views will be a pale imitation of you. You will put a load of ITKs out of business. People will bring sick relatives to meet you in the hope that touching the hem of your robe will effect a miracle cure!

When does a manager leaving ever get announced before a game ? Or even after it ? Can't see them just coming out and telling us all while we are at the game.

I assume he means there'll be a statement from the club on the website/to the media in the lead up to the Spurs match.

The Spurs game is supposed to be the match to mark the 150th Anniversary of our football club.
And you think it's going to be turned into Tony Pulis Day?
With respect to TP, I don't think so.

A sky sports interview team were at the training ground on fri 12 apr doing an indepth piece on Pulis(not the standard pre game press thing) and im led to beleive that both Mr Coates & Mr Pulis will leave at the end of the season.

He'd get a round of applause at least as a token of the fans thanks for his efforts here. It's all turned sour over the past few seasons but I still think most Stokies whichever camp they're in would show their gratitude.

I agree - especially as (if KKK is correct) an announcement will only be made in advance of the Spurs game if we are safe by then. You'd imagine the relief at avoiding relegation plus the excitement of an impending change of managership (and it would be an exciting time) would mean that TP would get a warm send off from many and an ok send off from even those he has upset. In my 39 year working career, I've been to a few leaving do's for colleagues who were not universally appreciated but, by and large, they got reasonable send offs - even if that was motivated mostly by relief!

If this is all correct, he deserves the best send off.
Regardless of everything, he has done a lot for this club and shown a lot of passion and we should wish him well.

I'd still give Pulis some applause though, whatever you think of him he's achieved quite a bit in his second tenure here. If you can't bring yourself to show a little respect to the bloke then it is pretty poor imo.

I can't see that happening either.
IF it is already arranged that he will leave at the end of the season, then I can see it being announced after the Southampton game. TP is not the sort to make a speech in the center circle is he?

If it will be announced, there will be only one reason for that, a new manager will be announced at the same time.

Oh, and the other small thing is that the chances of us being mathematically safe before the Spurs game are as close to zero as makes no difference.
This isn't being planned and it won't happen.

People working at Stoke have been saying for ages that there are going to be big changes, all round, from the top with John Coates taking the reins. Cartwright was the first move. Whether anyone really knows who the next manager is I don' think so, but the conjecture is Solskjaer or Neville.

Please let it be true.
A cacophony of boos as he jogs his sorry chavy ass down the touchline for one last time. A fitting send off me thinks.
And while he's at it, can he please take his coaching pygmies with him.
boooo boooOOOOO BOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Let's face it ,though, if we win on Saturday, we're safe. I could well see the powers-that-be (Coates) wanting to give Pulis the chance of a public departure in front of a sell-out and the Sky cameras, with appreciative applause ringing in his ears, putting a positive spin on his exit, rather than have him slinking away in mid-May? Having said that, if we lose on Saturday, everything changes. Who knows what's going on behind the scenes?

If you mean the Spurs home game in 2020 with Tony moving upstairs and little Ant Pulis taking over as manager, then maybe.

Having said that, if we lose on Saturday, everything changes. Who knows what's going on behind the scenes? Well, say we win on Saturday and we can't predict the Wigan and Villa results. That would leave us 9 points ahead of Wigan (they still have 15 points left to play for) and 6 points ahead of Villa (who would have 12 points left to play for). I know this is complicated by Wigan playing Villa on the last day but you get the idea. We may well lose the Sunderland away match which follows Norwich and precedes Spurs. I know what you are saying that 40 points would probably make us safe but it would be a heck of a big gamble to arrange a ticker-tape send off for TP at a point when our very Premier League survival would still, technically at least, hang by a thread. In fact in terms of an epic fail it would not be too far behind the Ninian Park Cardiff City "don't come on the pitch to celebrate" announcements just before wwe did them at the death in the play-offs. I can't imagine there is a single bone in PC's body which would allow this kind of jamboree to go ahead until the SKY TV money for next season is guaranteed to be tucked in to his trouser pocket. In short, if this happens, I'm a Chinaman!
