I agree that he isn't the best full back in the world, or indeed the best defensive midfielder or winger. Perhaps we should expect more from our STRIKERS. We'd be asking him to be making goal-line diving saves with his fingertips if only football's governing body would change the rules for us. Remind me, what position does he play? You ask what position does he play? That's the point though, what position does he play? I, probably along with lots of Stoke fans who watch him, have no idea what he's supposed to be doing. Based on the fact he spends most games running around like some headless chicken I'd suggest he doesn't know either. He lacks pace, he's got the first touch of a rapist, his pass success rate % must be single digit, he can't tackle, he's crap in the air, his vision is on a par with Stevie Wonder and his positional awareness is like a drunk on acid. Other than that he's brilliant. ;D

We can be much BETTER than we are mate, I would agree. We can be more exciting, more creative and better to watch but we'll always struggle to out-pass or out-possess most opponents because we DO lack technical quality on the ball. However, as I said earlier, I think the Premier League as a whole lacks quality. I dont think it does lack that much quality I just think we've become accustomed to it. There's always at least two comparatively poor sides in the top flight every season Swindon, Bradford, Sunderland, Derby, West Brom, Hull and Burnley to name a few the same as every league in the world. The problem is that it's overhyped No I probably don't explain myself too well mate but I don't rate the 'quality' of some of the top teams let alone the Derby's of this world. Most of the top 5/6 teams have SOME players with real quality but, as teams, they are no great shakes. Manchester City knocked us out of the Cup last week and I honestly think the only real quality on show came from TWO players, the rest were very ordinary footballers. In 5 years of watching Premier League teams visit the Brit, if I were to talk about players of real technical quality, I'd struggle to reach 20 over 5 years, the rest are average. The Premier League is (IMO) 2/3rd full of very ordinary teams with (mostly) mediocre footballers. Much as I love Stoke City, I don't think such a limited footballing outfit as ours could have survived as well as we have if the above weren't true.

Rodwell, Lescott and Milner by any chance?

The sad thing is that I dare say the ordinary looking players you're talking about were british??? Rodwell, Lescott and Milner by any chance? ;D ;D ;D ;D Tis true though. All the players with the best technical ability in the premiership have generally been foreign, Henry, Bergkamp, Cantona, Van Nistelrooy, Pires. Even some of the "lesser clubs" when they had players of ability they were again foreign Okocha, Djorkaeff etc. A damning indictment of English football, or english footballers

Best player on Stoke's books. If you'd said worker or runner I might agree with you.

Best player on Stoke's books. If you'd said worker or runner I might agree with you. Works hard and produces very little, runs about alot around achieving very little, if that's good enough to be a Premiere league player then it is little wonder that monkeys eat their young.

If he was being used as a squad player, we'd all think he was ace. Hard working, loads of commitment, chips in with the odd goal playing in several positions. Sadly, he's first name on the team sheet. With Kightly, Shotton and Wilko all regular first teamers, it's amazing we're mid table really?

It isn't Walters fault he's crap. He does the best he can with his very limited ability. The blame lies fairly and squarely with Pulis for believing he's a Premier League player and then actually playing him This.
