Half of the people on here refusing to go for 'value' reasons (can understand the distance travellers reasons!) will be the first ones moaning if we got to Wembley (or a semi at Old Trafford etc) that they couldnt get tickets - probably blame Pulis for that too!

To be honest I can't see any reason to go.
I can't think of any exciting young talent that well be on display, it's likely to just be a run out for the dead wood. Therefore it's going to be the same safety first football that we usually get but played by less talented footballers.
Finally if we are still in the competition around Christmas time past experience says we will tank this cup to concentrate on the league so there isn't even a 'follow the lads to wembley' vibe.

I'm going even though I've got a funny feeling we could get turned over. Seriously mate if we get turned over tomorrow and they play a bit of footie the flames will be fanned ten fold They are a definite banana skin, especially given the team we are likely to field.

What will the team be tomorrow?
Tommy Shotton, Higgy, Upson, ??? (Ness?) Pennant, Palacios, Whitehead, Delap Jerome, Jones
£ 12 quid to see a team costing the best part of 20m to put together is an absolute bargain!

I expect the same sort of game we played against Brighton in the FA Cup - a good side, will be brushed aside.
I expect
Sorro Wilko Upson Cameron Ness Pennant Whitehead Wilson Kightly Jones Jerome
CM might be a bit different, looks better than last seasons B team of Tonge, Soares etc though

Sorro Shotton Cameron Upson Higgy Pennant Deano Rory Ness Jerome Jones
As a guess but wouldn't be shocked to see Wilson and/or Ryan play.

Pennant will definitely start for no other reason than to highlight that he is still in the naughty corner.
Maybe, if he is being sold, KJ won't play so as to avoid being cup-tied.
Who knows?

If the game had been played Wednesday night i think a few of our regulars would of played?
And with Etherington injured he wont risk Pennant?
Can Edu play or not?

How do you work that one Werrington in terms of "if the game was a Wednesday night"?
When he returned to the club, one of the first things he did was to change our traditional evening fixtures from a Wednesday evening to a Tuesday evening.
Something to do with his preferred training and preparation program was given as the reason for this.
Then, two seasons ago, when we lost embarrassingly at Liverpool, one of the excuses that TP came up with was that "he didn't like Wednesday evening fixtures".
If we were playing on Wednesday, there would be even less chance of our regulars taking to the field I would say.

Two games in 48hrs Dave A Wednesday game would of given it a normal weekend midweek feel for recovery
