If there was a top 10 of worst away days, I think we'd be in it.
Pubs in Stoke town don't allow away fans, Hanley(city centre) is a hole and a trek from the station.
Your option is a pub at Staffs uni and that's your lot. I don't think the police trust us more than the away fans.

If your booking hotel, i would book one in nottingham, and if your driving up should be easy enough to get there. As for stoke, town centres are full of idiots. It would be wise go elsewhere.
Hope you have a good day, apart from a stoke win of course.

Has the bride suggested this in a last minute hope that the groom won't turn up on the day?? ;D Stag do in Stoke, You must be mental! Its bad enough going out round here if you're a local let alone a bunch of southerners in Southampton tops or whatever... Like many have said get a train to Manchester... and drink on the way to the game because unless you want to go to the Harvester by the ground, or go to a pub miles away (Meir, Bentilee, Cross Heath etc), you won't get in to a pub on match day

What a welcome to Stoke on Trent those replies are! I wouldn't recommend a Saturday night out in Hanley or Newcastle either to be honest but reckon they could make a decent stag weekend depending on what they enjoy. If they arrive on the Friday, they could do Alton Towers or if they are into golf there are plenty of good golf course around. Friday night out in Newcastle, although not great, is always a laugh if there is a decent group of lads all together. On Saturday, they can visit several pubs in Stoke, providing they aren't in colours and wouldn't have any problems doing that (I have seen away fans in Spoons without a problem) but Saturday night is the problem. I would suggest that they hire a mini-bus (probably about 50 quid return) and head over to Nantwich for their Saturday night out. Nantwich is a good night, it is busy, safe and whenever I have been is full of good snatch! Perfect for a Stag do! Hopefully the football will ruin a good weekend for you!

Just got back from Stoke and went to a pub near North Staffs hospital. What was nice to see was a father sitting in the beer garden with his two daughters.
What was especially memorable was that they were sat about 3 meters from a bunch of yobs who kindly shouted to the waitress "Oi, that's my fucking sandwich!!" when she took the food over to them by mistake.

if you check out the OP's 3 previous posts its obvious he's on a wind up and not a Saints fan. Probably not even old enough to be on a stag do ;D

There is that dwarf guy (the one that likes to smash one out on the train) in cheadle who lets you hire him for all sorts of perverse sex acts on stag dos.
Surely that's a plus?

Whatever happened to Stoke? In the late 80s/early 90s coach partys would regularly travel here - The Place, Regimes, Maximes, Ritzy, Shelleys held thousands - and held some of the best nights in the UK.
Now there's nothing - and Burslem is the better option! If SCFC end up back in div3 this city is screwed!

I love it how the people of Stoke do nothing other than run the place down !!! Probably the same people who moan their bollocks off the lack of investment in the city ? We must have the most backward thinking apathy rules city in Britain

Get up newcastle mate. A game of quasar then a few pints in the crossways, boozy dog and wine vaults. Then head up to the cube. Brilliant.

Newcastle is allright for a night out, but nothing special, Hanley is just a dump. So if you want a good night out get yourself on the train to Manchester or Liverpool.
