Has the bride suggested this in a last minute hope that the groom won't turn up on the day?? ;D Stag do in Stoke, You must be mental! Its bad enough going out round here if you're a local let alone a bunch of southerners in Southampton tops or whatever... Like many have said get a train to Manchester... and drink on the way to the game because unless you want to go to the Harvester by the ground, or go to a pub miles away (Meir, Bentilee, Cross Heath etc), you won't get in to a pub on match day And going to a pub in somewhere like Meir or Bentilee in an away top is NOT a good idea ;D

"You seriously can't put Shelley's in the same sentence as "The Place, Regimes, Maximes, Ritzy". Course you can. Depends which Shelleys you're thinking about. Before 'Piano House Shelleys' it was the roughest club in the city - a miner's club that played Rick Astley just like every other club in the UK. The Place was one of the first clubs in Britain to play Chicago House (1986) Then Excaliber (which became the infamous Freetown) was one of the first to play Acid House (May '88) Then Jollies function room in Longton hosted 'Introspective' which was one of the first to play rave.('89) Then Shelleys jumped on the bandwagon with its Sasha Friday night - promoted by lads from Manchester rather than Stoke. Entropy took over Jollies and did Rave. ('90) Then Room 101 in Newcastle hosted Facepaint - one of the first to play 'Progressive House'.('91) Then Golden started at 101 and was one of the first to play 'Handbag House' ('92). Every one of those nights attracted coach parties to Stoke. Facepaint promoted one night that had a coaches from London, Birmingham and Manchester, organised by the three top clubs from each city at the time (Luvdup, Chuff Chuff and Naked Lunch). Stoke was a centre of the House scene. Manchester took advantage of their House legacy (and the Hacienda) to regenerate the city. Stoke council closed the venues or knocked them down. Our own N40 played a part too in the death of Stoke nightlife, as a lot of the outsiders became intimidated by the atmopshere as various groups began to struggle to control the drugs scene. It's a shame because nightlife in Stoke was (for a few years) something to shout about. At least SCFC has risen to be a cultural focus for the city, which together with Bet 365, and rebirth in the pottery industry - Emma Bridgewater & others - are the only positives I can see at the moment for Stoke. Great post mate.

Respect Ruby! It was Frenzy and Colin Curtis! The missing link between the Tunstall Torch and the best years in the city's music history. If you promoted it I almost certainly know you - I was there on the first night and when I opened the doors at the bottom of the stairs it was like Stoke had arrived (via smoke machines/strobes/poppers & a 303).
Mental, mental, radio rental, chicken oriental! [smiley face from before the internet] Pity SCFC were shit at the time [Mills Out]!

There's nothing wrong with Stoke, Hanley or Newcastle as long as you all behave yourselves. The Old Brown Jug in Newcastle is my tip as the best pub to end up in.

To the OP... listen youth, some people on here are correct, go to Manchester.
Locate the airport, get on a plane and go to somewhere hot and sunny.
Find young girls who will literally do anything for a blue WKD.
Stag do in Stoke??
Dont be such a dick.
