I noticed tagged on to the end of the main story on the back page of The Sentinel that Dave Kevan has left as the U-21 manager. Who will replace him? Could it be a job for Neville if he comes? Rory? Some young up and coming person we know nowt about? Cartwright?

Brilliant result, and hats off to the team behind this! I hope it starts to realise Coates dream of the new "Stokie" home grown backbone to the 1st team in the next decade

I must have missed it. I'd love to see them compared and know why we're the best. Time to turn that into players now!

SL&P ?@stokeloudproud 21m #Stoke received 97% on EPPP and are the highest graded academy in the country. What an amazing achievement.
Not sure how reliable SL&P are but if that information is correct then well done to all of those involved. A truly fantastic achievement.

We scored extremely high and yes we are the highest ranked in the country.
The only thing we scored low on was how many players pushed on to first team's which is understandable as all this is new.
The youth teams are taught to use the ball on the floor and get moaned at for long ball.
Another reason why Pulis was moved on.

Looks like James Alabi could be going on loan to Hereford United next season.
I reckon that would be of great benefit to the lad. Martin Foyle is the manager there and will teach the lad well in my opinion.

Strangely the story has now vanished which probably indicates they took the story off Twatter and have rumbled that there are two accounts one of which could be a false steer.

Yeah, I'm half glad because I think if he is to be loaned out I think he should probably go to a League Two club where he can play pretty regularly unlike Scunny last season.

Surely the investment in the Academy points away from O'Neill & Hughes?

Don't think it here is much difference between Conference Prem and League Two mate. I'd go as far as to say the clubs at the top half of the Conference have better teams than the bottom half of League Two in general.

With the retained list being done today has there been any mention of what U-18's have been offered pro terms, and what U-18/21's we've definitely released?

Nicked this from Jezza's thread about released players;
Clarkson Michael Thomas Gledhill Matthew Benjamin Hall Jadan Lund Matthew Charles Musungu Andrew Rigg George Benjamin
And I hope Immanuel Parry's name not being there is an aberration because he's bloody useless. You could tell he was from his trial game and then we signed him! And he continued that form on.

Me too but he was inconsistent beyond belief really but he's the sort of winger I always wanted to be! But genetics won't allow it!

So the U-21's squad for next season will start as this from this point from what I can gather;
GK - Daniel Bachmann GK - Dale Eve RB - Ben Glasgow RB - Elliot Wheeler CB - Ben Heneghan CB - Jordan Keane CB - Sam Westley CB/LB - Ryan O'Reilly CB/LB - Alex Grant LB - James Campbell CM - Lucas Dawson CM - Charlie Ward AMC - Kris Scott AMC - Jamie Menagh AMC - Jordan Richardson WG - Adam Thomas WG/ST - Jack Nardiello ST - Karim Rossi ST - John Marsden ST - James Alabi ST - Marcel Barrington ST - George Waring
So that's 22 players so far, a shed load of strikers, centre halves and attacking midfielders. With the size of the squad the scope for loaning players out is reasonably big. Hopefully Alabi will get a decent loan again and the same for one of the 'keepers. After that I aren't sure what sort of level the rest could get a loan at.
And You'd think barring any arrival of some great talent that might be it for now.

Interesting stuff will be interesting to see how they perform next season under a different coach. There are some serious question marks over the futures of some of those in every game I saw Ben Glasgow in last year I thought he was awful!!

Me too, he came with a bit of a fanfare and then when I actually saw him it was like watching a shit version of Danny Collins, he was bloody awful. It'll be interesting to see who the new coach will be. I don't want it to be a Hughes man.

Isn't Glyn Hodges the Team Hughes go-to Academy man?
Don't know anything about his coaching credentials, but he seems to follow him around along with Niedzwiecki, Bowen and Hitchcock.

He hasn't been mentioned though much like Hitchcock and I don't want of either of 'em and was hoping that the lack of Hitchcock talk that it wasn't happening! More out of hope than expectation, Hodges I aren't that arsed about but I really don't want Hitchcock.
