Last minute against Arsenal, it's 0-0, Kightly floats over a corner and G-Cam meets it with a header past the goal minder.

Noel Blake is manager/coach at Austin Aztecs, he has obviously put his name forward unless Pulis stays up late to watch MLS with his bowl of rice krispies Noel Blake is part of the England coaching set up - U19 manager I think. It was, in fact, Phil Rawlins' Orlando City management team (Inchy Heath and his staff) who scouted and recommended Cameron to Stoke.

From the min-by-min on the off. site...
Interesting to see Geoff Cameron being deployed in a holding midfield role, rather than his usual defensive position. 18:47 stokecityfc.com: Cameron surges forward with the ball and attempts the one-two with Walters, however the defender gets back to marshall the ball out for a goal kick. The American looks very assured with the ball at his feet though.
Cameron really is impressing me tonight, as he again surges forward, beats his man and curls an effort goalwards which the 'keeper palms around the post for a corner

I'm glad he's playing in midfield Me too. Without ever actually seeing him play, he seems made for the cage.

More cage hints... www.thisisstaffordshire.co.uk/Stoke-City-Pulis-swoops-sign-Dynamo-Kiev-season/story-16692937-detail/story.html"Kightly was really good," said Pulis, "and Cameron was excellent. "He's a good athlete and he gets round the pitch. I just wish we could have got him in earlier"www.thisisstaffordshire.co.uk/Stoke-City-Kightly-scores-Stoke-career-flyer/story-16692923-detail/story.htmlAmerican international Geoff Cameron was also blooded last night during a midfield debut in which he was prepared to get stuck in, show decent mobility, pick a pass and also run with the ball.
Some might say that one particular pass, with the outside of his foot to release Jon Walters down the right channel early second half, was the kind of through ball last seen at Stoke when Graham Kavanagh was strutting his stuff for the Potters more than a decade ago.
Central midfield certainly seems to be his first resting place – despite demonstrating his versatility by switching to central defence on the hour – and you wouldn't bet against him starting in the engine room at Reading.Surely he won't be starting at Reading if he's off to Mexico on Wednesday though?

Clint Dempsey made his Fulham debut 9 days after signing. He was hardly a regular in that first season was he? A couple of cup games & 10 Prem games out of 21, some of which were as a sub. This from a player who cost a lot more than Cameron and has become a tremendous success in England. If he took time to settle in London, then Heaven help Cameron in Stoke! It has to be 50:50 that Cameron will make no impact at all at SCFC, anyway. There is absolutely no way that Cameron will be starting games in 2012 in the Prem and to think so is putting unrealistic expectations on the lad which could lead to an Arismendi type situation. I've been thinking about this comment today march ;D I'll bet you 100 quid that he starts a prem game in the next two months

Have a bit of faith in Tone's judgement, march! Typical Pulis Hating Wankstain-ery from March. Daring to question Ar' Tone's judgement in the transfer market and suggesting he wouldn't ensure that all the proper research was carried out so Cameron could fit in seemlessly frm day one. Shame on you March, shame on you.

A left back, an actual left back. & now having to tell March to have some faith in Pulis! ;D What a bizarre window!

It makes sense for our PR people to introduce him at the home game. Just hope Popov plays at Reading.

Got to be doubtful he'll chuck Popov straight in, though.
He's playing Lithuania in Macedonia on Wednesday night.
So maybe the first time he'll be on the training pitch with the rest of the team is Friday morning.
Can't see Pulis throwing him straight into Reading in those circumstances.
